Of those that have previous experience, Culture Queen looks to have the best credentials, and she seems to be gradually getting the hang of things. However, there are a couple of newcomers that take the eye, namely Queen's Best and JEZAWI. The former is a King's Best filly who is closely related to a middle distance winner, but preference is for Michael Jarvis's Danzig colt, who is beautifully bred, and sure to appreciate today's trip.

LYRICAL SOUND won a moderate affair at Leicester last time, but she won with something to spare in the style of an improving filly. The runner-up in that race has franked the form with a recent victory, and it would be no surprise to see her follow up today. Grafton showed improved form to finish second on his handicap bow, and should pick up a similar race in the near future. El Capitan needs to bounce back from a disappointing effort last time.

GOLBAND got off the mark at Folkestone last time, and the manner of that victory suggested there could be more to come. She was value for a much wider winning margin after being eased right down near the finish, and could be one step ahead of the handicapper. Portmeirion also won with something in hand last time, and any ease in the conditions would be to her advantage. Born For Dancing was a little unlucky when a close third last time, so should not be left out of calculations.

OBLIQUE continues on the upgrade, and she should have no problem keeping her 100% record this term. She races off the same mark as when winning at Musselburgh earlier in the week, and already looks way ahead of the handicapper. The courageous Jeepstar was just denied by Balkan Knight in a thrilling finish at Haydock last time, whilst Quedex, who is very useful on his day, has not been seen since finishing fourth in last year's Cesarewitch.

Judging by jockey bookings Orange Stravinsky looks to be the pick of the Sir Michael Stoute pair, and she ran as though this extra furlong would help when staying on over 7f on her debut. Godolphin introduce Call Me George and this one should be watched in the market, but the vote goes to MUSIC NOTE, who has been knocking on the door since being stepped-up to this trip, and Mick Channon's colt can make his experience count.

PRIDE OF NATION, who made a pleasing racecourse debut when runner-up at Warwick recently, should come on for the experience and will take all the beating here. Dakota Rain should not be long in winning but may have to settle for place money again, whilst Haddaaf, who was a disappointing favourite on his most recent start, should benefit from the drop back to a mile.

7

17:35 Nottingham (Class 6) (3YO plus)

DANZARE ran a fine race in an apprentice handicap last time, is likely to benefit from this step-up in trip and the stronger handling he will receive today from Willie Supple. Oulan Bator didn't seem to handle the soft ground at Chester last time, so that run is best ignored, while Gold Guest returns to what is probably his optimum trip, and the pair can both make the frame.
