Kempton bumper winner Forest Pennant was a good second on his hurdling debut, while double bumper scorer Lodge Lane and the lightly-raced Carruthers won first time out over timber. All three can be given chances here but preference is for BOOMERANG, an impressive winner over 2m 5f at Towcester on just his second start over hurdles. He takes a slight drop in class today and should have too much experience for these rivals.

There can't have been few more impressive winners last month than ONEFOURFUN, who scooted away from his field over this trip at Wetherby. He carries a 7lb penalty today but scored so easily it's difficult to see any of these preventing him from following up. Forest Silver has yet to run a bad race but looks to have plenty of weight on his handicap bow while Market Rasen winner Keltic Rock may be in the grip of the handicapper. French import Pavillon Bleu ran well on his UK debut over 2m 1f here last month and might be the one for the forecast.

This should go the way of the progressive LEADING AUTHORITY, a very easy winner over 3m in the mud at Lingfield last month. He could only finish third to Minella Tipperary over 2m 7f here in November but has improved since then while the winner has put in two disappointing efforts since. Niche Market, not disgraced in a Grade 2 chase at Lingfield last time, could run a big race but Supreme Cara, narrowly beaten at Bangor on her chasing debut, may find this a little hot.

Captain Aubrey broke his duck at the tenth attempt with an easy success over 3m at Towcester last time but is up 15lb and has much more to do here. Nacadour was a game winner over this trip at Leicester but is up in class while Saunders Road looked a somewhat fortunate winner over 2m 4f at Bangor and may struggle with another 7lb now. Although pulled up on his final run of the campaign, SUPERROLLERCOASTER enjoyed a fine season last time and returned from a long break to score with ease at Folkestone last month. Another 3lb here shouldn't stop him following up.

Low Delta has failed to complete his two runs over fences and returns to the smaller obstacles, where he has shown some ability. Busy Henry wan well on his hurdling debut and could go well dropped in class today after a couple of disappointing efforts. It's worth taking a chance on WHATCANISAY, who has few miles on the clock for a nine-year-old. The penny finally seems to have dropped and, after a point-to-point win in March he returned from a long break to score over 2m 3f here last month. He's up a massive 16lb now but could have enough improvement left in him to follow up today.

Cardenas, winner of Newbury hurdle at odds of 50-1, has had his problems since and is best watched on his chasing bow following 434 days off the track. Ruairi and Climate Change have chasing experience but need to improve and this could be between Irish import Good Company and OSLOT, making their chasing debuts. The former landed a Down Royal race last time out but the selection has proved a decent handicapper over timber, winning twice, and could have too many guns for these rivals.

Although not generally known for her bumper winners, Venetia Williams has a good strike rate in this sphere and her Weird Al could be the pick of the newcomers. Sassanias was second over 1m 5f here on his debut and has claims if getting the trip while Like A Hurricane was a running-on third over 2m at Wincanton and seems sure to be in the shake-up. FASSAROE looked beaten when hampered by the winner when third over this trip at Bangor but, if he's come on for the run, might be good enough to land this.
