The Harry Fry-trained GAOT attracted market support when finishing second at this course on her latest start, running on well having found herself a long way behind three out. Moving back up in distance slightly, the daughter of Crillon looks capable of registering her first win over hurdles, possibly at the expense of Voyburg, who performed respectably when taking third at Huntingdon on his handicap debut last month. Rectory Oak offered more on his reappearance at Wincanton last time and is also worth noting now switching to handicaps.

MOT A MOT made the perfect start to his hurdling career when scoring at Worcester three weeks ago and, with that run likely to bring him forward, the Nicky Henderson-trained gelding can prove good enough to overcome a 6lb penalty. Hermes Boy bumped into a smart prospect when runner-up at Bangor on his latest outing and is feared, while American Gerry may have more to offer now switching to hurdles and is another to consider.

The four-year-old HELIOS ALLEN stepped up significantly when making a winning handicap debut at Chepstow last month, scoring with loads in hand, and a 9lb rise may not be enough to halt his progress. The Colin Tizzard-trained No Hubs No Hoobs switches to handicaps and is open to improvement now moving up in trip, while Tip Top Cat registered his first career win at this track on his latest start and can also figure.

ADRIMEL has questions to answer after being pulled up at the Cheltenham and Aintree festivals last season, but he has shown that he has plenty of ability and the scope to be a chaser, so it would be no surprise to see him make an impact on his first start over fences. Boothill ran well to finish third on his seasonal reappearance in a Listed hurdle at Ascot and he could be a leading contender as well if he enjoys the larger obstacles, while Gladiateur Allen has shown glimpses of promise over hurdles and is another for the shortlist.

GUNSIGHT RIDGE produced an encouraging display in a strong-looking affair at Aintree on his first start over fences, shaping like he will appreciate the step up to this trip, and he could be the one to beat. Longshanks also showed promise on his chasing debut when third at Stratford, while the lightly-raced L'Homme Presse is another to note. He has only raced four times over hurdles and could improve now he tackles the larger obstacles for the first time.

DANCING SHADOW may be winless since Novemebr 2017, but the veteran may never get a better opportunity to regain the winning thread having finished third in last year's renewal. Placed on both outings this season at a higher level than this, Victor Dartnall's charge is expected to relish the step up in trip and can get the better of the hat-trick seeking On Call and Chepstow winner Young Offender. Gwencily Berbas must also enter calculations along with Normandy Soldier, who was a comfortable winner on his last start here.

FIRESTREAM is taken to improve from a very promising debut at Ascot when a close-up fourth. Awaythelad is also entitled to come on for a decent third on debut at Uttoxeter, though the main threat may come from the newcomers Clifton Bridge and Mount Pleasant, who both make appeal on breeding. Champs Hill must also be considered for last year's winning trainer.
