ASTON CANTLOW looks to be the one they all have to beat, with official rating of 120, representing last year's winning yard. He looked to be just getting into the race when departing three from home at Chepstow recently and with a clear round of jumping today he should be thereabouts. Moabit only found a useful rival too good on his hurdles debut and he should have more to offer with that experience under his belt. Ninepointsixthree was second over C&D at 100/1 three weeks ago and, while he won't be that price today, he should run an equally good race.

Avispa has not hit the heights over hurdles once expected of this former Listed-winning bumper performer but this race lacks depth and she is entitled to the utmost respect. That said, MORNING HERALD gets the nod despite having to shoulder a 7lb penalty for her success at Ludlow in March. Since then she has since been third in a stronger race than this at Kempton. The rest make little appeal, although What A Saga would not have to be a superstar to make the frame on her Rules debut.

The consistent GET INVOLVED could prove tough to beat in this modest handicap - a mark of 115 looks more than fair on his exploits this season, which included a decent chase debut second at Cheltenham just last month. Kie is an intriguing contender for David Pipe, who has won this twice in the last decade. The eight-year-old is rated 17lb lower in this sphere than over fences and could be well treated. The Tourard Man and According to Harry complete the shortlist for their powerful yards.

VESPERAL DREAM has an excellent record fresh over the last couple of years, with his first run last season resulting in victory and his reappearance in 2014 ending in a narrow defeat to Cheltenham and Aintree contender Garde La Victoire. The champion trainer does well at Exeter and will have his charge ready to mount his challenge for 2016/17 honours. Such A Legend was far from disgraced on his reappearance last month and should strip fitter from that, while Easily Pleased is interesting for Martin Hill with the booking of Nico De Boinville looking a shrewd one.

PETERBROWN wasn't far behind the high-class Big Fella Thanks (won again since) on his latest start in this sphere over the extended 2m3f here and, having run another promising race between the flags since, he shades the verdict in a tricky contest. Its All Or Nothing is fancied to be a fair bit better than showing at Cheltenham last week and he might be worth another chance, while On Alberts Head also merits consideration.

Racecourse debutant Swoop To Conquer is sure to have plenty of supporters representing a powerful trainer/jockey combination, but it could pay to side with the experience of MISTERTON. He looks to be improving all the time and has recently-crowned Champion Jockey Richard Johnson on his back for the first time. Waterloo Warrior shaped with plenty of promise on his debut at Wincanton and he cannot be ruled out either.
