RAY DIAMOND looks to have plenty going for him. He arrives in the best form, goes well at the track (record here reads 4,3,1,2) and is lightly weighted - ingredients to suggest he can run a massive race. Umberto D'olivate disappointed off this mark latest but would have every chance if recapturing the form of his gritty success at Chepstow previous to that, while Royal Riviera and first-time blinkered Milarrow are just a couple of others with claims in an open handicap.

STEEL CITY stepped up on his narrow course (2m1f) defeat when scoring comfortably over the same trip at Huntingdon last time and, likely to improve again for this step up in trip distance, he can follow up under a penalty. Strollawaynow should go close if reproducing the form of his second at Lingfield 31 days ago, while David Pipe's pair Tullyesker Hill and Smiles For Miles wouldn't be without claims either.

A big run from Steel City in the previous race would certainly enhance the credentials of PRIDEOFTHECASTLE as he had the former one and a half lengths in behind when striking over 2m1f here last month. There should be plenty more to come from David Pipe's runner as that was only his second spin over hurdles and another huge performance looks assured. Sky Watch has been knocking on the door and rates the biggest threat, ahead of Cool George and Knight Of Noir.

Venetia Williams' horses are flying at the moment and TUSKAR ROCK can give the Herefordshire-based handler something else to shout about. The four-time career winner has dropped 1lb below his last winning mark following a lacklustre performance at Bangor last time out, but the drop in grade looks sure to help the veteran chaser and he can put all his experience to good use. Also noted are the consistent Roseneath and Cornish Ice, with the latter sure to be suited by this step back up in trip.

ALLOW DALLOW ran with plenty of credit when behind only Wuff, a promising Tom George inmate, at Uttoxeter last time out and that form reads particularly well in the context of this race. Jonjo O'Neill's charge boasts sound claims if running up to his rating of 123 and it could be significant that 18-time champion jockey Tony McCoy takes over in the plate. Royal Player makes his debut for the in-form Philip Hobbs operation and this point-to-point third is considered along with Major Milborne.

TRIGGERMAN was in the process of running a big race over this track and trip in November before a bad jump at the last cost him his chance, and with the blinkers retained, he is capable of a big run. Tullamore Dew represents a big danger after finishing second in the Rowland Meyrick, while Ballyoliver has been tried over further but may find this return to 3m in veterans' company a more appropriate opening. Pineau De Re is also worth a market check on his return to the larger obstacles.

DUNGENESS may have been slightly fortuitous when his main challenger lost his jockey at Warwick on Saturday, but that looked a decent contest, and he is capable of following up if this doesn't come too soon. Boomtown got back to winning ways over a similar trip at Huntingdon recently and is no forlorn hope with testing conditions likely to suit. Similarly, Residence And Spa may find the slower surface suits his abundant stamina and he can finish on the premises.
