ORCHARD THIEVES was a clear-cut winner on his Rules debut at Worcester back in May and he is the one to beat based upon that evidence, despite having to carry a 6lb penalty. Time To Move On has to be given the utmost respect having won both of his bumper starts at this track. Shaughnessy is another to note based on bumper form, while similar comments apply to Lamanver Pippin and Nestor Park is considered.

MOGESTIC failed to fire in his bid for a hat-trick when last seen back in June but it is far too soon to be writing him off, especially as he has proven that he can win off a lengthy break. Ruaraidh Hugh has already had a productive season, with two victories, and he could make the frame once again. Others to consider are Hurlstone Point, Midnight Midge and Norse Legend.

Sonoftheking won this last year off 5lb lower, but he had the benefit of a run beforehand on that occasion and doesn't have that same luxury for this year's renewal. Bears Rails did it well at Wincanton when last seen in April and has performed well off higher marks in the past, but CORNISH WARRIOR looked progressive prior to struggling at Cheltenham 19 days ago and could bounce back. Dropped 1lb for that, these fences are much easier and the seven-year-old can resume his earlier progress.

JUST A STING did it well at Uttoxeter last month and this step up in trip looks sure to suit the six-year-old course winner. A sound surface is what he needs and he can make it 2-2 this season for Harry Fry. Gunfleet won on his handicap debut over hurdles at Doncaster when last seen in February and could do better now tackling fences, while Indian Hercules won fresh at this time last year and ended his spring campaign with a couple of impressive performances in hot races.

Point winner BLACK OP progressed into a classy hurdles performer last term, finishing runner-up to Santini and then Samcro in two outings at Cheltenham before striking in Grade 1 company at Aintree. If Tom George's charge can transfer that form over fences this term then he's an exciting chase prospect. French recruit Sully D'oc Aa debuts for a new stable and merits a market check, while I'm A Game Changer, who has been active over timber lately, could also figure for his in-form stable.

Zalvados can leave his comeback effort in the Grade 3 Silver Trophy well behind now dropped in class, while Casterly Rock merits consideration following his reappearance at Bangor. The vote, however, goes to NAYATI. Alan King's charge won two of his three starts last season and returned with an encouraging effort in class 2 company at Chepstow last month, finishing third behind subsequent winner Grand Sancy. Dropped in grade for his second outing this term, he should remain competitive off 2lb higher.

EVIDENCE DE THAIX shaped with lots of ability in three French bumpers last year for Guy Cherel, winning twice, and she looks sure to mount a bold bid on her UK/hurdling debut. Alsa Mix won his sole point-to-point outing by 10 lengths and made a successful start for Alan King when landing a Worcester bumper in September. She warrants plenty of respect making the switch to timber, while Malachys Girl and Viva Vittoria add further spice to the race.
