PRESENTING YEATS could be arriving here on a hat-trick but for a demotion on his penultimate start at Newton Abbot when causing interference. There were no such issues at Huntingdon last week, though, and the son of Yeats can follow up under ideal conditions. Honor Grey's winning run came to an end at Worcester but he is still very much respected along with C&D winner Jersey Wonder, who is capable on his day.

A comfortable winner at Warwick last time out, GERARD MENTOR shapes as though he may improve for the step up in trip, and the fact that he has run well here before is another plus. Runner-up on his last starts, including a close call at Newton Abbot last month, Yaazaain is a key player as well as Caspers Court, who is interesting on the drop in trip.

Provided he stays the trip, which he hasn't always done in the past, VISION DES FLOS looks the one to beat following a comfortable success at Warwick last month. A Listed hurdle winner here in his younger days, the nine-year-old has shown a strong level of consistency lately and he is narrowly preferred to fellow course winner Shantou Express, who remains unexposed in this sphere. Red Happy is also a player based on the pick of his form.

Dannystory finished last on his Rules debut at Plumpton last month and may fare better over the smaller obstacles today, but he should prove more competitive when upped in distance in handicap company. Vanderbilt has yet to win in 35 starts over hurdles, but the Mark Gillard inmate is likely to give it his all. That said, LALLYGAG showed some fair form in bumpers and he makes most appeal now going hurdling for Paul Nicholls.

Troed Y Melin won this contest back in 2020 under similar conditions and the veteran is one to note now 4lb below that mark after some inauspicious efforts since. PENS MAN rates the most solid proposition despite being brought down last month at Bangor and, if none the worse for that incident, the Jonjo O'Neil inmate could gain his fourth win over fences. He won well at Southwell before that mishap and is only 5lb higher now. C&D winner Forget You Not makes most appeal of the remainder, even though the seven-year-old is 2lb out of the handicap.

BEGOODTOYOURSELF only found one too good in a similar event at Kelso a month ago and he could take plenty of beating off the same mark this afternoon. Majestic Merlin has to be of some interest on his return to action having been narrowly denied when last seen at Wincanton in March, while Evron and Gaelic Thunder are others who make the shortlist.

TWENTYFIRST LANCER is a rare runner for Ralph Beckett in this sphere but the yard won this race 12 months ago and the son of Churchill could repeat that achievement today. Polemon is a full-brother to the Ebor second and Listed-placed Weekender and he has to be of some interest, while Tique and Ghyll Manor are the pick of the remaining field.
