GARTON KING runs for the first time under rules but looks like the one to be on here. He's unbeaten on three starts between the flags, hails from a top yard and has a pedigree which suggests he has a future in the jumping game. Doctor Foxtrot is still a maiden after nine starts and not the most consistent but can be given a chance on the pick of his efforts while Royal Collonges is open to some improvement and drops in class today.

QUINZ has shown little in three starts over fences, failing to finish twice, but the useful hurdler is worth another chance. This is his easiest task to date and he is sure to have been well schooled during his summer break. Estates Recovery landed a hurdles race here in April but will need to improve on his chasing debut at Ludlow while Cashel Blue was a good winner over timber at Newton Abbot but has disappointed in two starts over fences.

2008 Triumph Hurdle winner CELESTIAL HALO proved himself a hurdler of the highest order and looks a fascinating chasing recruit. He tackles fences for the first time today and only needs to transfer a portion of his talent to the larger obstacles in order to make a winning start in this code. Rougham also tackles fences for the first time and his hurdling form suggests he could be the one for the forecast while Diamond Brook can also be expected to go well.

Dare Me has won two 'bumpers' from four starts and was second in a Grade 2 event at Aintree back in the spring. He must be given every chance on his hurdling debut while Magic Show won his last two starts on the Flat but has been off the track for three years now. This can go the way of SUNWISE, a double Irish Flat winner who finished a close third over C&D on his hurdling debut in a similar contest here in February.

Russian Epic's long absence is a worry but he's shown enough in three starts over timber to come into the reckoning. Race fitness won't be a problem for Royal Max but he may need some help from the handicapper and preference is for THE WEE MIDGET, who won more cosily over 2m 4f at Towcester this month than the official distance would suggest. He's up 6lb now but looks in fine form and could be capable of further improvement.

WOODLARK ISLAND makes a quick reappearance under a 7lb penalty following his impressive 2m win at Kempton on Sunday. That was only his second start over fences and, with further improvement on the cards, he is worth sticking with. De Bansha Man won nicely over hurdles at Perth last time but has plenty to find on his sole effort over fences so far while Ere Alfie landed a double over fences last December but may be in the grip of the handicapper now.

Hughie Morrison is a better known Flat trainer but although he makes few forays into the 'bumper' arena, he rarely comes away empty handed, boasting a 40 per cent strike-rate, so, with little else to go on here, it could pay to side with his Sakhee colt COUSIN KHEE. Watledge is related to a string of good French and US winners and is another who could go well while Direct Flo and Ondeafears cannot be ruled out.
