MUFFINS FOR TEA has to shoulder top weight but he showed a decent level of ability in three starts in novice hurdles last season and he may have more to offer now stepped up in trip. A Plein Temps won a similar race to this at Taunton in March and he made the frame over this C&D on his sole subsequent start. The shortlist is completed by Daliance, Desert Sensation and I'llhavealook.

Wizards Bridge has never been the most reliable of geldings but he tries to exploit a 9lb lower mark over fences following an impressive win over hurdles at Chepstow last time out. ABRACADABRA SIVOLA was set some stiff tasks last season but he won a decent novice chase at Leicester in March and he appears to be on a workable mark. Albert D'olivate remains unexposed and would have a big chance if taking to the larger obstacles better than he did last year.

Phillip Hobbs has taken the last two renewals of this race but Vieux Lille will have to improve upon his chasing debut if he is to make it a hat-trick for his trainer, although he cannot be discounted based on his hurdles form last season. Label Des Obeaux was a bit disappointing in the second half of last season, given that he was a Grade 2 winner at Sandown in December. That said, he was highly tried on a couple of occasions and should only improve for going over fences. AMERICAN accounted for Label Des Obeaux when the pair met in a novice hurdle at Ascot a year ago and he was dropped into a highly-competitive Grade 2 at Fairyhouse on his sole subsequent start. A winning pointer, this son of Malinas could prove to be well above average in this sphere. Missed Approach and Private Malone are also worthy of consideration.

WALK IN THE MILL was last seen finishing a close second at Newbury back in March and that form has worked out very well since then. The winner won again from 5lb higher later that month and there were four other subsequent winners behind the selection on that occasion. Based on that evidence a 4lb rise in the ratings is more than fair. No Ceiling gets weight from all of his rivals today and he has been in good enough form of late, while Theatre Mill should also be in the mix.

Visage Blanc is improving between runs and could benefit from the fitting of a first-time tongue-tie, though preference is for LITTERALE CI, a dual winner on the Flat in France that now debuts for new connections on his hurdles bow. Volpone Jelois and Tyrell are other Flat winners that merit consideration now debuting over timber, while this looks a more realistic assignment for Flying Tiger after he contested a Grade 1 hurdle at Auteuil latest.

ON THE ROAD signed off last season with a 19-length victory in the mud at Taunton and looked on good terms with himself when winning at Fontwell earlier in the month. He's expected to remain competitive under a penalty and may well go on to complete a hat-trick. Bodekin Point is a potential improver now dropped in grade and sent handicapping, while Avithos could build on his Chepstow third last time now stepped up in trip.

THIRD ACT took a step in the right direction when second over 2m at Chepstow earlier in the month and is expected to remain competitive off 3lb higher. Double Treasure is expected to build on his latest course second in novices' company now sent handicapping. The pick of the remainder may be Lapalala, who has been dropped 4lb for finishing second in a maiden hurdle at Worcester and could feasibly defy a mark of 110 on her handicap bow.
