A whole host of NH newcomers to choose from with preference for I'M THE DIVA, who receives weight from the field, and could easily be up to the task for her in-form connections. The Milton Harris stable can do no wrong at present and Romeo's Bond must be considered being a half-brother to the stable's smart hurdler Stimulating Song. Beat The Storm is an interesting recruit to the Alexandra Dunn stable, while Afternoon Tea looks the pick of those with experience.

All of these are making their seasonal reappearance apart from OSCARS MOONSHINE, who shaped well at Newton Abbot last month despite conditions being far from ideal. Paul Nicholls' charge has already proven himself at the track, having won here last October, and he can strike off a workable mark on his chase debut. A former point-to-point winner, Beatthebullet always promised to be a chaser and he can have a say along with Gosheven, who has a 327-day absence to overcome.

GAZETTE BOURGEOISE made quite the impression when bolting up on her seasonal reappearance at Stratford last month and a 7lb swing in favour of the runner-up, So Said I, may not be enough to overturn a five-length deficit. The daughter of Spanish Moon looks to have plenty more to come over staying distances, and she is preferred to Swincombe Fleat, who was last seen contesting a Grade 2 bumper at Aintree. Doin'whatshelikes is not to be underestimated either.

ST ERNEY showed a determined attitude to land the spoils over C&D last time out and the 10-year-old gets the nod to repeat that feat off 5lb higher. I See You Well ended his previous campaign with a career-best effort at Plumpton and the Seamus Mullins-trained gelding rates the most immediate danger, while Tea Time On Mars has a good record at this venue and must be respected.

KILLER KANE showed plenty of promising signs in his brief hurdling career and made a creditable start to life over fences, finishing third at Carlisle last month. The Colin Tizzard-trained six-year-old is a course-and-distance winner and may get off the mark over the larger obstacles off 2lb lower than his recent outing. Black Kalanisi was no match for an in-form rival at Stratford last time out but he may be able to mount a bold challenge, while Zoffee completes the shortlist.

BOURBALI won with plenty in hand off 7lb lower at Chepstow last time and the gut feeling is that the handicapper probably hasn't caught up with him yet. He's only had the six starts over hurdles and this stiff 2m1f trip should be right up his street. Mi Laddo represents in-form connections and he gets plenty of weight from the selection following a confidence-boosting Taunton success. Peloric completes the shortlist.

A competitive finale so just a tentative vote is for last-start Ffos Las winner IN REM, who is completely unexposed in handicap company and has clearly improved for the switch to this yard. Queen Of The Court has to be of interest on her return to the track, given the jockey booking of Harry Cobden, while you can also make a good case for Sehayli, who racked up a quick-fire hat-trick this time last year.
