Providing his jumping holds up, BEAU DU BRIZAIS looks capable of giving weight and a beating to these rivals. He may well have won a decent event at Ludlow last time but for a couple of costly mistakes and should prove difficult to beat in this lesser event off 2lb higher. Recent Chepstow winner Still Believing is likely to be closest on hand to take advantage if the forecast favourite does slip up, with Mr Mcguiness seemingly up against it.

BRADFORD BRIDGE built on his Newton Abbot second when scoring impressively over 2m4f at Worcester and although an 8lb rise will obviously make life tougher, he's difficult to oppose in a race of this nature. Aristocracy is now only 3lb higher than his latest success 11 months ago and Connor Brace's claim leaves him running off a feather weight. He could be the one for forecast punters, although Kalifourchon is hard to dismiss with his rating continuing to fall.

In a moderate contest the marginal preference is for FIELD EXHIBITION, who has failed to complete in her last two starts but her previous form gives the eight-year-old a big shout today. Ladies Dancing disappointed last time out but had won well on her previous start, while Elysian Prince and Uno Mas are others who merit plenty of consideration this afternoon.

Those with previous hurdles form set a very low standard, with Getadollar marginally being the pick of them. With that in mind, it is extremely hard to oppose EARTH MOOR, who won a bumper at Fontwell earlier in the month and he should have no problem switching to hurdles being from the family of Merry Gale. Zoffany Bay won twice on the level and he wouldn't have to be a superstar in this sphere to chase the selection home today.

A disappointing turnout results in a match contest between STERNRUBIN and Cotton Jenny. The former sets a clear standard on form achieved to date, having finished second to Yanworth in this 12 months ago, and can be forgiven his effort behind Dolos at Ascot last November when his stable were beginning to go through a rough patch. The latter has had enough chances to get off the mark over fences and looks set for second place if jumping round.

Hughie Morrison has won this contest twice since 2008 and he looks to hold an excellent chance with RIPPLET. The daughter of Rip Van Winkle comes from a decent Flat family, her dam a half-sister to a Group 3 winner, and she can make a winning debut. Feu Ardent represents last year's winning connections and warrants plenty of respect along with Just Perfect, who is related to Group 1 winner Crowded House.
