STORY OF LIFE has run behind the very promising Oomph in both his starts to date and will appreciate it back in maiden company so should be the right one for this race. SINGITA SWENI has been running well recently and is the biggest threat. LAVENTELHAAN is not completely out of it as he has run in both Kwa-Zulu Natal and Gauteng. Watch the betting on the newcomers.

Verdict

This Maiden Juvenile Plate is much more open than the previous race and all of DOUBLE HAPPINESS, HURRICANE SHELLEY, KUNGFOOFIGHTING and SAMIAM hold winning chances. SAMIAM is well drawn and the step up in distance can suit. DOUBLE HAPPINESS did not show the expected improvement second time out but the yard is doing well at the moment. KINGFUFIGHTING improved in second start.

AQUINATA showed signs of inexperience and rightly so on debut and could be a lot smarter for this race and looks the one to beat. ASPEN FIRE has fair recent form and is well drawn. SELFPROPELLED is clearly a lot better than what she has recently been showing. SADLER'S LASS was caught too far back in her latest and looked an unlucky loser so has to be respected in this race.

Despite both having bad draws the Dorrie Sham trained pair of NETHERBY HALL and ARMORIAL are expected to run well in this race. NETHERBY HALL is holding form well and deserves a win. Verdict

The scratching of A TIME TO DREAM has taken a bit of the gloss off this East Cape Oaks but it will still be an intriguing affair. ARABIAN WINTER fought off ENTRECHAT in the trial for this but it could be a different story over the longer distance this time. Fellow Western Cape raiders SOLANA and JETANO are not completely out of it either so it could be an exciting race.
