Verdict

An interesting race to start the day. ICE CAP ran well on local debut and can go one better this time. Trainer Alan Greeff and jockey Sean Veale have started the season in style and FANTASY GIRL could be a danger once again. RAIN BIRD is in good form and can contest the finish again. BEST INTENTIONS is clearly better than her last run would suggest and has a place chance. QUEEN OFTHE PALACE is improving and is not out of it. ELUSIVE HUNTER probably needs to do a bit more to beat these rivals but could earn some money.

Verdict

There was not much between CORAL CREEK and GOLDEN GALLANT last time out and they are expected to fight of the finish. CORAL CREEK has more scope for improvement but it would not be a surprise if his rival finished ahead one more time. KING'S SAILOR lacks a strong finish but could be a threat if allowed a soft lead. Verdict

MONTELENA ran very well on local debut and can go one better if repeating that performance but it is a competitive race. GOCEKWITHLOVE has improved of late but did pick up a 6-point penalty for her last run and will find it a tougher task over this longer distance. ESSENTIAL was not disgraced in her attempts in some feature races of late and would not be a surprise winner back in a handicap. CHERE FOR ME has not won for some time but does quicken nicely when in the mood. STRANGE MAGIC flopped last time out but did win well before that and deserves respect. RED SASH is consistent and can fight out the finish once again.

Verdict

GIMME'S LASSIE did not show her best last time out. She is weighted to win this race comfortably and should do so. AADEHYA is a dangerous front runner when in the mood but faces a tough task at these weights. EXECUTOR likes this surface and could fight out the finish yet again. ABOUND and RAVILIOUS have been disappointing of late but could be competitive under these conditions. WHITE HILLS is also capable of improvement at this track.

Verdict

A very competitive-looking handicap. WILLIAM THE FIRST is well-drawn and could make a bold bid dropping in the distance under jockey Muzi Yeni. BETHEL is speedy and has a winning chance over this track and trip. NOTORIX is unreliable but is also clearly not out of it. LADY CRUSADE reminded us of what she is capable with a solid enough win last time out and deserves respect. CONSIGLIERE got out of the maiden ranks last time out with an easy win and could have more to offer. SWISS WALT quickened best when scoring last time out and is another to consider. ANUSCHKA'S WORLD is also capable of being competitive.

A race in which we may have to go very wide to survive this leg of the Pick 6. VALERIAS DREAM ran well on local debut behind a class animal and can go one better this time. She does, however, give weight away to all her rivals. CABARET likes this surface and can contest the finish again. CONCERTO has not been reliable but does have a winning chance. Verdict

Trainer Glen Kotzen sends a couple of raiders to the Eastern Cape and KING REGENT could do him proud. He does not always show his best but if he does it may be good enough to beat these rivals. He has Polyrack experience. INHERIT THE RAIN likes this surface and will be doing his best work at the finish. TEATRO was impressive on the turf last time and has also run well on the Polytrack so could earn some money. LEDELL'S ECHO may have just needed the last run and could attempt to make all the running. MISS GREENLIGHT is in good shape and should fight out the finish. PASSCHENDAELE also has to be given some respect.
