SOCA STAR has got better with each run since returning from a short break and this could be within the compass of the potentially well-handicapped filly. Shark Two One was a game winner over C&D last month and Olivia Tubb keeps the partnership intact. He should go well again, while Eyes Front and Albeseeingyer are others who don't have much to find to be on the premises.

WOODVALE will be wiser after making a winning debut at Beverley. The son of Mayson fluffed the start and took his time to warm to the task, but he finished with a rattle and a 4lb penalty might prove insignificant now he knows what is required. Havana Flash is a likely pace angle and might set things up for the selection, while Paphos showed improvement on his second start and he could have a big say if greenness doesn't get the better of him.

PASSERINE showed marked improvement to finish second at Bath and she looks worth chancing with the promise of more to come on her nursery debut. Holliesthedollie couldn't land a blow in the Super Sprint at Newbury, but readily left that behind with a soft-ground success at Windsor. A 5lb rise demands more but there is still plenty to like. Ma Fille De Reve and Secret Rival are also appealing choices.

OZONE FRIENDLY was a promising second on debut at Lingfield and it may be worth forgiving her latest start, as the drop to 7f went against her in a class 2 event at Newmarket. Back over a mile and lowered in grade, this looks an ideal opportunity for the daughter of Time Test to get off the mark. Caelan's Rose and Engedi showed some ability on debut and can do better with the benefit of experience, while Sa Llagosta is potentially the pick of the newcomers.

Despite not getting his head in front in three outings since cheekpieces have been applied, BRUMMELL has been getting closer with each run and is taken to go one better after his Beverley second. Ziggy's Triton may well have finished closer but for being hampered at Redcar on Saturday and is expected to be in the mix, along with Tiva and Desert Treasure.

SOLARIZE returned from a break with a personal best when gaining a third career success at Southwell a fortnight ago and the four-year-old is more than capable of defying a 3lb rise on his turf debut. A line can be put through Ruby Wedding's Doncaster effort as that was too bad to be true. She enters calculations, while Percy's Daydream is worth some thought.

Red Snapper missed out on landing a hat-trick when filling the runner-up spot at Salisbury and Kathy Turner's gelding is likely to play a leading role in proceedings. That said, the claims of MAGIC MUSIC are hard to ignore. The daughter of Al Kazeem was an unlucky loser over C&D last time and it wouldn't be a huge surprise if compensation awaited her. Mr Cool completes the shortlist.
