FLORAL KINGDOM has decent form and can open her account. She is bred to prefer the extra. CUBA LIBRE may show a lot more in his second run after a rest. He wasn't disgraced in his Western Cape debut earlier. PRINCE OF RABADA made good improvement last time. If he sees it out, he can be a leading contender. XIPHOS is back on the Poly. Verdict

NEXT OF KIN was only just touched off by well-supported Tam's Knight in a competitive heat last time. He can go one better back on the Poly. KLEIN KAROO is unbeaten on the surface and looks a big threat. He was only just beaten by a smart sort last time. PRINS JASPAR won as he liked after setting the pace last time. He has room for further improvement but this is stronger and he is back from a rest. The stable elect, however, should be DRICUS with Serino Moodley in the irons. He won his last race in good style and must also be watched after a break.

NORDIC CHIEF could get back to winning ways if overcoming his slightly wide gate. He ran a gallant race in second giving weight to a useful sort and could prefer the poly. DIANI wasn't far off the former but could be a danger on this track. His yard has come to form. MAPHAKA can repeat after getting his confidence boosted last time. BANFF could be the dark horse. The lightly raced five-year-old has faced high-class individuals and could make a decent debut for his new yard. DE VLUGGE may have drawn a bit wide but is consistent and best weighted. More in it.

Verdict

SHINY BOB won his last try on the Polytrack and then ran two solid races on turf. He can get back to winning ways. MOHANDAS also won the last time he raced at this course and importantly, had SHINY BOB 2.80 lengths behind him and is now 1kg better off. He must have a big chance. I AM CLASSY isn't an easy sort to follow but has the potential to upset, especially as he may prefer being back on poly. There shouldn't be much to choose between fillies PRINCESS PALACE, SPANISH FEUD and LAST OVATION who all weren't beaten far in their last encounters. LANTERI and NATIONAL DREAM can pop up too.

Verdict

RED CARDINAL has had some difficult draws to overcome. He can show up having also dropped in ratings. It has been a while since QUEUE WING got his head in front but it must be remembered that he is a winner of 8 races with three of those coming on the poly. The trip looks ideal, but he has drawn widest. SESAME and HODGEPODGE (big weight) are decent race mares, but the former could be the pick as she is in hot form at present. TEE DOG showed something like his best form last time. He can be dangerous from the front and must be taken seriously.

Verdict
