WINTER HILL was by no means disgraced on debut at Newbury last month after running into trouble a furlong out. She will have come on for that experience and with the Tom Dascombe yard bang in form, she could go very close here. The well-bred Darling Lexi, a daughter of Dylan Thomas, could be the subject of market support for Richard Fahey and Paul Hanagan and Nearly A Gift will have learned a lot from her debut effort when fifth behind Gabrial who has since come out to frank that form at Beverley.

CARRIE'S MAGIC looks well treated here and represents a model of consistency for the David Barron yard. This 6f trip looks ideal and she holds serious claims stepping down in class. Of Linda Perratt's trio, Sweet Cheeks could be dangerous if she has overcome the problem that has kept her off the track for almost a year. Elsewhere Dark Lane may well bounce back to his best but he would need to improve and reproduce the form that saw him win at Windsor in early April.

Blues Jazz seemed to need every yard of the 6f last time out at this track when he recorded his first career win and having been momentarily outpaced on that occasion, the Ian Semple representative may need further than 5f. SHARP BULLET gets the nod after going down by just a nose on Monday at Carlisle. He will certainly be suited by any ease in the ground and if he reproduces his recent effort he will go close. Tournedos is sent out under a penalty after he won readily on Monday and could be one to watch for in-form handler Ruth Carr.

Klynch has gone up considerably in the weights for his three successive wins in May and the Ruth Carr representative must overcome a 12lb penalty here to land the four-timer. INGLEBY ARCH is the selection as he seems to have found his feet again this year over 6f at Southwell. David Barron's eight-year-old does have form when there has been ease in the ground, most notably at Ayr last October. Elsewhere, Hellbender looks to be improving with every run this term and could be a danger to the principals.

ASKAUD looks well treated here and gets weight-for-age against the older fillies and mares. The daughter of Iffraaj may appreciate the slight drop back in trip after a poor run at Goodwood and if patiently ridden, she has serious claims on the form of her second to Beatrice Aurore. Gobama ran well on the all-weather at Kempton when she lost out on second close home and, taking into account her two runs at Newbury and York last term on good ground, she may well figure closely here. At a price, Oceanway could be the each-way value in the race for Mark Johnston.

Fire Fighter has not been seen since October last year and having struggled as two year-old, he may need the run over this much longer distance. URBAN KODE continues to race consistently for connections and looks ready to win again after a more than creditable return to the turf at Nottingham on Sunday. Countrywide Flame beat Silver Tigress over this C&D at the beginning of May and could be involved when it matters most.

This looks an obvious opportunity for POKFULHAM to get his head in front for trainer Jim Goldie after a relatively successful season over hurdles. He will enjoy the ground and will be fit and ready off a similar mark to his last win on the Flat at Ayr in September 2009. Houston Dynimo could be the horse to cause the selection most problems as he seems to want every yard of the trip, with stamina being his forte. Casino Night has performed consistently without winning this season and could go close if her market rivals under perform.
