Pastoral Prey left his Musselburgh performance well behind when runner-up at Carlisle recently and further progress would see him take a hand in the finish here, while Tough Lady is respected on her racecourse debut for Mark Johnston.
Tough Lady and Bernardino are interesting newcomers that could have a big say in matters, but Mandy Layla sets a strong standard on her debut fourth and is taken to put that experience to good use.

FALASTEEN could prove a cut above these rivals. Kevin Ryan's gelding comes out some way clear on official ratings and, although well below par on his last couple of starts, dropping into claiming company for the first time today can help him regain the winning thread. Frequency is 2lb better off with Qubuh for a head beating over C&D some five weeks ago and should theoretically reverse placings, while Waabel was successful when last lining up in this grade.
Falasteen could simply outclass these, but he is far from bombproof following his low-key turf return at Chester last month and Frequency could offer better value.

SANDWITH will arrive full of confidence following victories over this C&D and at Musselburgh and, despite a further 3lb rise in the ratings, he could take some stopping in his bid to complete the hat-trick. The first-time visored Here Now And Why is 3lb better off for a length defeat to the selection in that Musselburgh contest almost two weeks ago and must enter calculations on the revised terms, while Ingenti is worthy of consideration after returning to form at Carlisle on Monday.
Sandwith continued his rich vein of form when landing a brace of handicaps last month and can confirm his recent superiority over Here Now And Why to complete the hat-trick. Ingenti is also in with a big shout if backing up his good third at Carlisle earlier in the week.

It could pay to side with ALL FOR YOU. She emerged with plenty of credit when third over 1m at Ayr eight days ago and there is a chance that she will improve for that first start since August. Like the selection, Silly Gilly came close to winning on her recent return and should play a leading role if reproducing that level of performance today, while More Bottle was much improved at Beverley last time and cannot be ruled out competing from the foot of the weights.
More Bottle took a couple of runs to get to grips with handicaps, but her third at Beverley was a big step in the right direction, and she must go close with further progress likely. Silly Gilly and Indian Giver are others to consider.

Hills Of Dakota won two of his three starts last term but the fast ground here represents a step into the unknown and he is therefore taken on with RESTLESS BAY. While all of his winning form has come on the all-weather, he shaped well enough behind Julius Geezer on quick ground in a Leicester seller last month and it could be significant that Graham Lee takes over in the plate today. Hopes And Dreams is another for the shortlist after her fast-finishing third off this handicap mark at Beverley on Saturday.
Hopes N Dreams found 5f too sharp on her debut for Kevin Ryan last time, and she can resume her progress back over this trip. Hills of Dakota is feared if ready to go on his return to action, while C&D winner Legal Eagle is coming to the boil based on recent runs.

Pokfulham won this race 12 months ago for Jim Goldie but is now rated 16lb higher and is opposable on the prevailing ground. Cadgers Brig still has it all to prove on the turf, so LA BACOUETTEUSE gets the nod now stepped back up in trip. The 1m4f trip at Ripon looked a tad sharp for him last month but he beat Categorical over 1m6f the time before and remains feasibly treated.
Last year's winner Pokfulham produced a personal best at Newcastle last time, but will need to pull out even more to stage a repeat off a career-high mark here, and preference is for Damascus Symphony, who ought to be cherry ripe after a couple of pipe-openers over further. La Bacouetteuse is another worth considering.

COURTESY CALL was an easy Chepstow winner over 1m4f last Tuesday and, despite being forced to carry a 6lb penalty, Mark Johnston's son of Manduro remains 2lb ahead of the handicapper. He is expected to be bounced out in front in an attempt to make all over this extended 1m3f trip and, while there should be more to come from the unexposed pair Fine Altomis and Gucci D'oro, he looks the one to be on.
Fine Altomis has made a fine start to life in handicaps, and with better still to come is taken to beat recent Chepstow winner Courtesy Call. Gucci d'Oro needs to improve on his handicap bow, but isn't easily ignored.
