MISS BAR BEACH caught the eye staying on well for second once the penny dropped on debut over 5f at Beverley, form which was boosted by the winner hacking up at Chelmsford last week, and Keith Dalhleigh's filly should relish this extra furlong. That experience earns her the vote over Lina's Star, who warrants the utmost respect on her racecourse bow for Richard Fahey, and Leicester third Time For Treacle.

Souls In The Wind sets a clear standard with efforts in second and fourth in valuable events at Meydan earlier in the year and is likely to be popular in this maiden. However, she has been well beaten on both starts in Ireland since switching to her new yard, albeit it in a Listed event last time out, and better value could be found by siding with DON VALENTINO. David O'Meara's charge left her debut effort behind when a good third over 6f at Redcar last week and further progress beckons. Jessinamillion has a similar profile after a near-miss at Pontefract second time out and must also be considered.

HIGH EXPECTATIONS relished the switch to this distance when opening his Flat account at the sixth attempt at Ayr last week, displaying his stamina as he stayed on strongly to score by a length and doing so with enough authority to suggest he could defy a 6lb penalty today with further progress in the pipeline. Mistiness also arrives on a double after a clear-cut success over 1m2f at Fairyhouse last week and races off the same mark now stepped back up in trip, so looks a big threat. Our Kylie rates best of the rest.

AMY BLAIR saves his best for this venue and recorded a third course success when making all last Thursday, a piece of form which received a huge boosted when the runner-up scored by seven lengths at Newcastle two days later, and a 6lb penalty doesn't look enough to halt Keith Dalgleigh's four-year-old in this moderate contest. Dark Crystal continues to slide down the ratings and could prove the biggest threat off what looks a feasible mark, with African Trader looking best of the rest.

Gerry The Glover remains on a workable mark but he isn't easy to win with and may have to settle for minor money once more. Alexandrakollontai is a reliable type at this venue but could be vulnerable to less exposed types, such as Richard Fahey's CARNAGEO. The four-year-old has a lovely draw in stall one and was probably the one to take out of the race when fourth at Thirsk last month, just running out of room two furlongs from home when making his move. Irish raider Poetic Choice and the consistent Desert Ruler are others to note.

Inexes travelled well at Ayr when second two weeks ago but he is tough to win with and might not be worth a chance at the prices, while Ancient Astronaut is a consistent type but faces the burden of the widest draw of all in stall 10. General Alexander should appreciate this return to six furlongs but it could be worth siding with David O'Meara's DANDYLEEKIE, who made a pleasing reappearance at Doncaster last month and remains on his last winning mark.

Shaun Harris landed this prize with ROY'S LEGACY last year and the eight-year-old returns for another crack off just 4lb higher. He looks sure to be ridden positively once more and there was little wrong with his recent Ripon fourth, just paying for his early exertions in the closing stages. Kinglami continues to slide down the ratings and is beginning to look feasibly treated, while former course winner Reflation should have come on plenty for his recent Thirsk reappearance.
