North Central seems sure to prove popular carrying a 6lb penalty for his Catterick success on Friday but that was a bad race and he has much more to do now. Similar comments apply to Hambleton whose recent Redcar success doesn't looks the strongest of form so preference is for ADAM DE BEAULIEU, who is capable of much better than he showed at Newcastle last time.

DEAN IARRACHT has dropped to a handy mark now and hinted at a return to something like his best form when a good fourth over 1m1f at Newcastle last week. The return to this longer trip should suit and he is preferred to Birkside, who has winning C&D form here and ran well enough last time. Recent Ripon winner Valantino Oyster seems sure to prove popular but this is tougher, while Highland Love shaped with a little more promise at Nottingham last time and could be working his way back to form.

This won't take much winning and BYGONES FOR COINS earns the vote having turned in a much improved performance on her handicap debut at Musselburgh last week, finishing a close-up third behind Rothesay Dancer. After only five career starts to date, she remains open to further improvement and can see off Dotty Darroch who has been running well in defeat of late and should do so again. Handicap debutant Vintage Grape takes the eye and appeals most of the remainder.

After a long losing run, Jobe won nicely over C&D this month but, back up in class, he might struggle to follow up under a 6lb penalty. Grissom has put in a couple of good efforts since scoring over 5f at Musselburgh last October but, while the trip will pose no problems, he might need a little help from the handicapper. It could be worth giving another chance to KARAKA JACK who has been knocking on the door off similar marks. Both his wins have come over seven furlongs and this stiff six may enable him to get his head in front.

The veteran FREMEN is always difficult to beat in this grade. In his last four runs, he's won a seller and two claimers, all over a mile. He's scored at this track and over this trip elsewhere and should take all the beating tonight. Moody Tunes boasts a fine strike-rate but the wins have dried up of late. However, has has run well in better races than this and could prove a threat if rediscovering his old form. Irish raider Belle Noverre was well beaten at Cork latest but must be considered in this company.

King Kurt broke his duck in a 1m4f Catterick handicap last month but is 7lb worse off and might not be suited by this drop in trip. Abidhabidubai is up 5lb for her head success at Nottingham but there should be more to come after just four starts. However, she might find one too good tonight in the shape of ZENNOR, a good staying-on second over 7f at Beverley last month on just her third start. She should benefit for this step up in trip, looks well treated on her handicap bow and should continue to improve.

In a wide-open contest, it might be worth giving another chance to BLUE CHARM, who returned to form last month with a 7f win at Southwell and a near-miss over the same trip at Ayr. He was closing all the time at Ayr and although he carries another 2lb here, he can get his head in front with this extra furlong in his favour. Nottingham scorer Mr Chocolate Drop can't be ruled out but might be in the grip of the handicapper now, while On The Cusp is in good form and shouldn't be too far away.
