Knot In Wood has held his form well bar a poor effort at Redcar and Richard Fahey's gelding shouldn't be too far away. Skiddaw Wolf has been behind him on a couple of occasions recently and is another worth considering but none appeals more than TYRONE SAM. He was a good second (Knot In Wood well back) latest in a race that is working out quite well and a similar effort may suffice.

Fire Two is the clear form pick after three sound efforts but a short-price about a horse who has been narrowly beaten on two occasions makes little appeal when a smartly bred newcomer from a top yard appears in opposition. NAKHEEL, a Saddler's Wells colt out of the Irish 1,000 Guineas winner Matiya certainly catches the eye, and the fact he's half-brother to a juvenile winner strengthens the interest. He's entered in the Derby and could well take this on the way to better things. Abbondanza, an expensively purchased newcomer is another to note.

Jazz Scene and Nanton have both been in good form of late and can go well. Of that pair, the former has the edge on York running but there is little to choose between them. Magic Sting is also in good order and although well off the pace in a handicap latest, the return to claiming company should see him get closer. REGENT'S SECRET has been in the first two, including three wins, on each of his seven starts over C&D this term and Jim Goldie's course specialist gets the nod today as he moves into claimers for the first time.

Rainbow Bay has shown definite ability on three outings so far, including over C&D on his debut and he is a live contender here. Grantley Adams has done well in his juvenile season and is a consistent sort who must always be considered and will once again be on the scene. Norfolk Stakes winner MASTA PLASTA hasn't tasted success since his Group 3 win and faces no easy task in giving weight to the latter pair but he is the class act in the field and is taken to regain the winning thread.

5

16:45 Hamilton (Class 1) (3YO plus)

EBF Betfair.com Flower Of Scotland Stakes (Fillies' Listed)

Mecca's Mate has made huge strides this term and has shown herself capable of performing at this level, including when winning at Ayr in July. However, there may be one too good for her today and that looks like being SUMORA who ran a blinder in the Portland at Doncaster last week. She won a Listed contest as a juvenile and that latest effort suggested she's ready to strike again in pattern company. All For Laura and Slip Dance can chase that pair home.

MINORITY REPORT is lightly raced for his age and was a comfortable maiden winner last time. He had made a decent reappearance prior to that and with further improvement possible can take this. Adoration will have plenty of support and should go well while Goodbye Mr Bond has to enter the reckoning as he drops in grade. Redwood Rocks had slipped to a favourable mark prior to scoring at Redcar and after following up last time still looks fairly handicapped on old form so he's a real danger to all. Evolution Ex and Kaymich Perfecto can't be ruled out in an open race.
