IT'S ONLY BUSINESS has been running creditably without winning around a mile of late and may be able to improve on those performances now stepped up in distance. Casila turned in a lacklustre effort when sent off favourite at Brighton last time and it will be interesting to see if she attracts support now stepped up in trip and taking on older horses. Ferdy landed minor money off this mark over C&D in May and could also finish on the premises.

Sign of The Kodiac struggled to land a blow in the Coventry but commands respect now dropping back into maiden company, while Phantom Flipper makes some appeal on his C&D debut third. The standard the aforementioned pair set doesn't look particularly strong, however, so it might be worth taking a chance on Mark Johnston's newcomer EQLEEM, who should know his job first time out. Fatherly Friend and Firedanser are other newcomers to monitor in the betting.

Risk Adjusted opened his account at the fourth time of asking when scoring in a 5f Hamilton maiden last month and is expected to remain competitive now switched to handicaps and stepped back up in trip. Preference, however, is for Chelmsford maiden winner WEDGE, who found the company a bit too hot when down the field in the Windsor Castle but looks on a workable handicap mark. Pippin Street and Bint Aldar are others to consider in a fiercely competitive heat.

All six runners bring winning last-time-out form to the table and the nature of the contest means this is a very difficult race to call. A tentative verdict goes the the way of HERALDIC, who romped to victory in a Lingfield maiden, is bred for this longer trip and may be a possible pace angle in this small field. Newmarket maiden winner Heraldic is feared most, though a big run from Heraldic, who struck over C&D on debut last month, would similarly come as no surprise.

POLARISATION took plenty of stoking up at Salisbury last time but was an unlucky loser, getting cuffed in the final strides. The step up from 1m2f assisted him that day and this even longer trip may be a source of more improvement. Queen's Vase second Tommy Docc drops back in trip but has understandably shot up in the ratings for that Ascot performance. A bigger danger may be recent course winner Dannyday, who has a 6lb rise to contend with.

Birdman landed a hat-trick earlier in the season but subsequent defeats at Ripon and Haydock suggest the handicapper has tightened his grip since. He's edged up 2lb for his latest effort behind cosy winner Express Himself, so preference is for FINN CLASS, who has taken a while to come into himself this year but is capable of defying a 5lb rise for his recent Ayr success to land a double. The fitting of a first-time hood could liven up Archie.

Miss Van Gogh has been raised 8lb for her two-length victory at Ripon last time and of more interest is COLOURFILLY, who steps up in trip on her handicap debut and may be able to build on her Kempton second over 7f last time. Naady drops back in trip after turning in a moderate effort over 1m2f at Redcar and has place possibilities, likewise Kizingo, who is another moving outside of maiden company for the first time.
