Little to get excited about on the formbook in the opener and it looks like a good opportunity for SILENT WONDER. After being hampered at the start, Robert Cowell's colt stayed on well to get within three-quarters of a length of making a winning debut over 5f at Redcar on good to soft and should know much more about the game now. Boho Chic showed signs of ability first time out but that was on fast ground and the biggest danger may be Mr Freddy, who stayed on in the mud after a slow start on his racecourse bow.

Dubai Hills improved on his debut effort when filling the runner-up spot in the mud at Newcastle and there could be more to come, while Dr Jameson has been placed in both starts and should be on the premises once again as he returns to 6f. It could, however, pay to take a chance on LIBERTY DIAMOND who was hampered a furlong out when fifth on her racecourse bow. That form is working out well with the second and fourth scoring since and she won't have any problem with the heavy ground today.

Although all his wins have come on fast ground, INVINCIBLE FORCE went close in testing conditions at York in July and is taken to regain the winning thread today. He is joint-top-rated in this line-up and got within less than a length of landing a Listed event on his penultimate start. Something hasn't been firing on all cylinders of late and Bond City has shown little in three starts since winning at Ripon last month, so the selection could have most to fear from Crying Aloud who returned from a break to score in style on fibresand a fortnight ago and is open to further progress.

Woodsley House has found a new lease of life since switching yards and completed a hat-trick at Redcar latest. He has more on his plate off a 4lb higher mark today, however, and the vote goes to BALAKIREF, a course specialist who revelled in the mud when scoring over C&D last time out. He has gone up 3lb for that win but has won off higher marks in the past. Charles Darwin, who returned to form with a silver medal at Warwick latest, and Malshoof, running well in defeat of late, are others to consider.

Hits Only Vic has filled the runner-up spot in all three starts since recording a hat-trick in June and, after a 2lb rise, may have to play second fiddle again, this time to RED FAMA. Neville Bycroft's charge has really got the hang of things recently and made it three on the bounce when upped to this trip at Redcar with sufficient ease to suggest a 15lb rise in the ratings may not be enough to halt the progressive 4-y-o. Me Fein is bidding for a hat-trick as he returns from a four-month break but he has done all his winning on the all-weather.

An open finale but there is plenty to like about the chances of SIGNALMAN. Runner-up on his last two starts, he likes to get his toe in and looks sure to be in the firing line again today. Historic Place is running back into form and wouldn't have to find too much on his one-length third at Bath last week to land this heat, while Kalasam was back on song when scooping the silver medal at Catterick latest. Elsewhere, Great View has slipped to a feasible mark and could go well at rewarding odds.
