Gary Moore has plenty of winners in this sphere with his French imports and THOUNDER looks to have a nice profile for such a contest. Picked up after one flat race in France, the three-year-old is likely to have been intensely schooled and could have too much for this opposition. He receives plenty of weight off two-time hurdles winner Plato's Kode, who disappointed on the Flat last time, and Geophony, who is a rare runner in this discipline for Mark Johnston.

Alan King is 6-17 with chasers at this venue in the last five years and recent Market Rasen scorer MILLE NAUTIQUE looks to hold outstanding claims of improving that record. He was beaten off higher marks than this last season and could be tough to stop if allowed an easy time of things at the front. Honkytonktennessee looks an awkward ride but undoubtedly has talent and represents connections in form, while Royal Plaza is of interest making his stable debut for Olly Murphy.

Hatcher remains on the upgrade for the Skelton operation and has landed his last two despite clearly having one or two quirks, while Hidden Oasis looks to be more of a long-term project for JP McManus and connections and might be seen to better effect in handicaps. DANS LE VENT sets a fair form standard after finishing sixth in the Cheltenham Champion Bumper earlier this year and he followed that up with victory at Ludlow in April. A successful start to jumping life looks to be on the cards for Jamie Snowden's charge.

AIR SQUADRON shed his maiden tag over hurdles in routine style at Southwell last month despite losing his left hind shoe and could prove tough to stop here off 4lb higher. Rated 80 on the Flat, the seven-year-old can continue to progress in this sphere and could get the better of Tangolan, who might do better returned to hurdles, and Dreamsoftheatre, who nearly landed the odds at Market Rasen last time out despite an indifferent round of jumping over the larger obstacles.

PEMBA was just narrowly denied on her latest start when beaten by Ashoka at Sedgeifled at the end of August and, on that showing, must have very solid credentials to gain her first success over the larger obstacles. McCabe Creek was runner-up on his latest start at Worcester and has first-time cheekpieces to assist, while Miss Spent could improve for her first outing over fences.

Tiradia landed the spoils on his latest start at Market Rasen when sent off 16-1 but looks to face a stiffer assignment here off an 8lb higher mark. Number One London is well handicapped if able to build on his most recent outing at Southwell but a chance is taken with SISSINGHURST. He has been pulled up on his last three starts but a change of scenery to Fergal O'Brien could elicit improvement.

Osgood returns to the scene of his most recent success which came a couple of starts ago back in May and could very easily bounce back to form. Irish Hawke got back to winning ways at Sedgefield last time and is one to watch off 6lb higher but he looks to have a solid task on to beat the hat-trick-seeking SHRUBLAND as he has thrived for a stable switch on his last couple of starts at Uttoxeter and Sedgefield.

GIBENO makes plenty of appeal on pedigree being a half-brother to Group 2-winning miler Bankable and comes from a yard that can get one ready for their debut outings. The son of Fastnet Rock could potentially have too much speed for his rivals. I Care Des Sources is a half-sister to Cheltenham Festival winner Let's Dance so warrants respect along with Shaella, who comes from a decent Aga Khan family.
