Gary Moore has two interesting runners in the field with handicap debutant Now Listen Here, who was a well beaten runner-up behind solid handicapper Melrose Boy at Fontwell, and recent Plumpton winner ARGYLE. Preference goes to the latter as he won well 10 days ago and is reunited with William Clarke, who takes off a valuable 7lb. For Jim looks capable of improvement also having his first start in a handicap.

MIDNIGHT TARGET has been running really well against stronger opposition, which includes a placed effort behind Modus at Bangor and on her latest start at Ludlow when second to Happy Diva. The step up to 3m should prove no issue and she can finally take a deserved success over fences. Nobuttaboy is capable of a lot better than what he has shown over fences so far and the yard have hit a purple patch of form recently, while Abbreviate could run a lot better in what looks a weaker contest than he tackled at Newbury just before Christmas.

Another interesting renewal of this contest and Warren Greatrex bids to win it for the third consecutive year with Western Ryder. The six-year-old accounted for Lalor at Cheltenham in December but he needs to bounce back from a disappointing run in the Grade 1 Tolworth Hurdle last time out. With that in mind, the nod goes to the unbeaten VINNDICATION, who won an above-average novice hurdle at Ascot last month under a penalty. The son of Vinnie Roe is going in the right direction and his best days should still be in front of him. All of the rest have some sort of chance but Mr One More is the pick of them.

A competitive handicap hurdle and marginal preference is for ZIPPLE BACK, who is very interesting given that he won his last two starts for Alan King. He now makes his handicap debut on his first outing for Harry Fry, having also had a recent wind operation. Wilde Blue Yonder has not had a lot of racing in recent years but he made a promising return to action at Newbury late last year. Mr Antolini made a winning debut for this yard and he also merits a place on the shortlist. Red Indian, who arrives having finished third in a good renewal of the Lanzarote Hurdle last time out, would be the selection but he has a first preference for a race at Towcester.

Tom George won this race last year and he relies on Minella For Me today, though it was slightly disappointing that the eight-year-old couldn't fend off the challenge of Zayfire Aramis at Leicester last time. That was the latter's first win since 2016 and he might not be one to trust to follow up, so the eye is turned to Venetia Williams and RUSSBOROUGH. He was an excellent second after a long lay-off at Ascot 19 days ago and drops in class this afternoon under a talented 3lb conditional rider.

HOKE COLBURN did it well at Southwell on his first run back from having his wind tweaked and could have more to offer after a short break now upped in distance. He handled soft ground well when winning his bumper back in May 2016 and a mark of 112 could still underestimate this six-year-old. Moidore showed encouragement over an insufficient trip at Sedgefield and he merits consideration, while Amberjam continues to knock on the door and is 1-1 at this venue.

MISS HONEY RYDER demands respect as a half-sister to classy stablemate Western Ryder and she could have too much for these rivals representing a handler who won a division of this race with Petticoat Tails last year. Moonlight Dancer is closely related to a couple of winners in this discipline and needs a market check, while Sea Story carries a penalty for winning at Ludlow but she did that in fine style and was well-backed before the off.
