A tough call with the protagonists stepping up from the bumper and pointing spheres - and reappearing after lay-offs. PRESENTING FOREVER fetched 370,000 pounds at the Doncaster May sales, so it is reasonable to expect this winning pointer should go close, especially as his yard rarely over-faces its charges first time up. Bonikos was the stable's second string when taking a bumper here and he and Hereford bumper winner, Bob Run, are worth noting. Little Al has the best hurdling form and is an each-way option.

WALKON enjoyed a successful time in the French provinces during the summer, collecting on three occasions before moving to the powerful Alan King yard. The stable has a plethora of talent in the juvenile division so the market should prove a strong indicator to the gelding's chances. Woody Waller made a useful debut when a close third at Newcastle, can only improve and his experience should prove valuable against a field of newcomers, of which Irish import, Dantari, looks the most interesting.

EXMOOR RANGER and Cool Operator are hard to separate, both having suggested that they are more than useful recruits to the novice chase division. Marginal preference is for the former as he has produced winning form on ground with give, whereas Cool Operator has only obliged on good/good to firm ground. The Vicar could well be a danger to both in receipt of 6lb as he was travelling well when capsizing here two out earlier in the month, although the current form of his stable inevitably remains of concern.

KIKOS has looked a much improved performer of late. He was going very well and looking likely to score at Market Rasen when coming to grief and followed up with a sound second at Uttoxeter. He has only been raised 4lb for those efforts and will go close if reproducing that latest run. Liberty Ben has a hefty burden to defy but his reappearance was full of promise, beaten less than two lengths by Nagam. He has sound credentials, while Irish import Artist's Return is well worth a market check.

5

14:25 Huntingdon (Class 2) (10YO plus)

These veterans' chases are becoming understandably popular with this particular event infused with extra spice by the appearance of Irish standing dish, RATHGAR BEAU. He has yet to recapture his best after a season off and it might be worth risking COOL ROXY. Obviously, all bar one of his wins have come at Fakenham but he wasn't disgraced when third here on his penultimate outing behind Loita Hills. Kenzo III has clear claims at his best but was well below par at Aintree and Bishop's Bridge is not ruled out despite top-weight.

It was only on the run-in that KERRIEMUIR LASS yielded to the much-improved Charles Street, to whom she was giving over a stone, in a fair Fontwell handicap. The mare is sure to adopt her usual aggressive tactics and should give supporters a good run providing conditions do not deteriorate. Sean Curran's Scandinavian import, Mick Jerome, is hard to evaluate, while Colophony will go close if repeating the form of his recent surprise C&D victory. The unexposed Dancing Mist is interesting on his handicap debut.

15:30 Huntingdon (Class 4) (4YO plus)

A really trappy event to close but MILLARDS LAD receives a tentative vote to record a first-ever victory over timber. He has turned into a decent chaser and was still in contention when unseating in the controversial amateur riders' race won by Hoopy at the recent Cheltenham Open meeting. Acosta improved dramatically to spring a surprise in smooth fashion at Hereford and it will be interesting to see how he performs off a 12lb higher mark. Tim Vaughan's Irish import, House Of Bourbon, showed promise last time and is not ruled out.
