Nicky Richards won this last season with course regular Cultram Abbey, who is just one of three saddled by the Greystoke handler in this. Stablemate Chidswell is looking to get back to the form which saw him thrash the Ladbrokes Trophy fifth Dingo Dollar at Doncaster in the spring, but it could be the yard's course-and-distance winner BERNARDELLI who takes this, as he's back down to the mark he scored off at Ayr in March. He will have appreciated his reappearance here last month. Wild West Wind and the reappearing Claud And Goldie are others worthy of respect.

In a tight affair a chance is taken on BERNARDELLI who showed enough to suggest he retains plenty of ability on his course reappearance and is back on his last successful mark. Wild West Wind shaped a lot better than the distance beaten on his reappearance and is well treated if he can build on that, while Claud And Goldie is a lightly-raced 10-y-o who should have a say if primed after a break.

The form of MAID O'MALLEY's second at Perth looks rock-solid, with those finishing either side of her both successful since, and normal improvement will put Stuart Coltherd's mare bang there. Glorious Lady and Aurora Thunder bring more experience to the table and have to be considered as dangers, as does Blossoming Forth, who only found one too good on her hurdling debut at Wetherby.

GLORIOUS LADY and Aurora Thunder are closely matched based on the form they showed in handicaps last time but the first-named arguably shaped that bit better, so she gets the vote in an interesting mares' novice.
