There was little to separate STAR MOOD (second) and Fox Vision (third) when the pair met at this venue last month. Having been repeatedly short of room in the closing stages, the former can confirm that form here and go one better. Balboa (fifth) shaped with promise after being slowly into stride in the same contest and he ought to have learnt from that experience.

Bawaader has been running to a consistent level in recent starts and he must be respected, although NO DIGGITY edges the vote. John Butler's charge landed a similar contest last January and he's favoured by the weights here. Plymouth Rock drops into classified company for the first time and he cannot be ruled out, along with Breguet Boy, who hit the frame at Lingfield last time out.

ASDAA must carry a 4lb penalty for his recent C&D success, but the son of Dutch Art remains fairly treated and he might be difficult to stop if arriving here in similar form. River Wharfe finished third on his latest outing and is one to consider down in class, along with Sandy Paradise, who ought to appreciate the return to an artificial surface. Market support would make Cuban Strike of interest ahead of his handicap bow.

Nails Murphy secured a comfortable win in novice company on his racecourse bow at Chelmsford in November and has to be worthy of consideration. That said, CHORLTON LANE bolted up over this trip at Newcastle on his debut in September and could prove tough to beat if anywhere near that form today. Floating Spirit is a well-related newcomer and completes the shortlist.

May Sonic has been gradually dropping in the ratings and is now rated 6lb below his last winning mark, but that losing run stretches back to July 2021 so it is easier to side with FIVETHOUSANDTOONE. The gelded son of Frankel was last seen finishing in mid-division in the Ayr Gold Cup in September and he can make a winning return to the all-weather. Orazio remains unexposed and is another to watch despite arriving off a 505-day break.

COURT OF SESSION has a fine record on the all-weather and he almost made it four straight wins on synthetic surfaces when not beaten far at Wolverhampton in November. The four-year-old gets the vote ahead of Aussie Banker, who arrives here on a hat-trick, and Imperial Sands. Formerly of Ballydoyle, Sun King is another to note on his first run for new connections.

This can go the way of JACKS PROFIT, who was narrowly denied at Southwell last time out and was a good winner here prior to that. The booking of promising 5lb claimer Jordan Williams is another plus and he may have enough to see off Drill To Dream, who has shown some promise of late. Ward Castle is a player based on the pick of his form, while Solanna has dropped back to his last winning mark.
