This represents a big step up in class for Sporting Art after two nice wins and, while it can be a sin to write off a Mark Johnston horse, Naomh Geileis probably needs to find a little more. Red Alert Day looks slightly better over the 7f and the Yorkshire raider Fred's Lad holds sound claims. After an impressive debut win here, REEL GIFT again caught the eye when she was just touched off by a very useful Stoute filly in a Group 2 at Ascot. Clearly up to the task here, she can add to her reputation by landing a cracking opener.

Al Tharib was an unchallenged winner here last month but does appears to be short of what is needed at this level, as does Lion Sands, but the admirable Shahin has found only the top class Papal Bull too good for him in his last two outings. Racing against such quality every time puts the Kingmambo colt well in the firing line, but the John Gosden-trained IMPERIAL STAR has an admirable record at this level and providing he sees out the trip, the 4-y-o can repel the Marcus Tregoning's charge in what looks to be a close run thing.

Tension Mounts, though well beaten in second, was clear of the rest here last month and is almost sure to improve for that pipe-opener. Another potential improver is Gardes who led for a long way Leicester and Palmerin is a contender after his game win here latest. However, KAL BARG's debut fourth at Thirsk was very promising as he was hampered in the final stages; this Medicean colt can learn from that experience and give the well regarded trainer/jockey team another success by taking this race.

One Night in Paris is very solid in lower grades but in this race, where several come here out of touch, the Mark Wallace-trained 4-y-o can get involved. Bonnie Prince Blue is too inconsistent to place too much faith in but can still be thereabouts, while Landucci now loves it around here with three wins to his name. The 6f trip was probably the reason for the defeat of DESERT DREAMER at Lingfield and now back over 7f with the surface holding no fears for him, the Gerard Butler 6-y-o could prove to be a formidable opponent to overcome.

Nor will the consistent STROBE who must be seriously considered as, since being stepped up in trip at the turn of the year, he has rarely been out of the picture and is very unlucky not to have more than the two wins to his name. He is the one to beat but Shine And Rise, who left his field strung out like a washing line here last month, is a serious danger.

Kingscape has been going well over the past few months and should give a good account of himself assisted by rising star William Buick. A game winner here last month, Mustajed is in good heart at present and looks sure to be thereabouts, but PIVOTAL ANSWER gets the nod. She built on her maiden win (dead-heat) with a nice second at Lingfield on her handicap bow and a 4lb rise may not be enough to halt her with further progress as expected after only four starts.
