The penny looked to have dropped for Jalela when getting off the mark at Newmarket, however Richard Hannon's filly has plenty to prove having fluffed her lines last time. Therefore, it may pay to side with the recent Richard Hughes winner WANNABE FRIENDS, who looks to build on his Goodwood victory. Apprentice jockeys' championship-chasing Kieran Shoemark partners Martyn Meade's Ernststavroblofeld, while the talented Georgia Cox could be able to get a good tune out of Mister Music.

Qatar Racing's ROARING LION made a noteworthy debut when scoring at Newmarket last month and John Gosden's youngster looks sure to make a bold bid once again here in the hands of the owners retained rider Oisin Murphy. Camomile Lawn let down favourite backers at Salisbury last time but a return to the venue of his likeable debut should see her back to her best. Verstappen is another worthy of a closer inspection, while La La Land was third in a competitive Sandown heat on his opening bow and could have more to come now.

Owen Burrows' Warsaan steps up in trip with a point to prove having let down favourite backers when well fancied last time, while the 210,000-guineas purchase Exprompt looks the type to do well on paper but needs to improve on his debut showing at Newmarket when finishing well down the field. With that in mind, preference is for Roger Varian's newcomer COMPULSIVE, who represents Cheveley Park Stud and cost 100,000 euros earlier this season at the Arqana Breeze-Up Sale.

Tanseeq and Symbolization were both well supported on their respective debuts before bumping into talented rivals in what turned out to be hot contests. Both could build on their second-placed efforts and are of note here, however, preference is for another who wasn't far away on debut, Hugo Palmer's BOWLER HAT. The Cheveley Park Stud youngster caught the eye that day at Nottingham and should benefit from the experience to become a likeable performer in time now stepped up in trip.

Its hard to look much further than Charlie Appleby's POETIC CHARM here who is backed to return to winning ways having failed to follow up her debut victory last time. She didn't have the best of luck that day from an awkward draw and the Dubawi filly can bounce back now. Jousi looked a filly to follow when scoring at Ascot but that performance is sandwiched in between two runs behind the selection here and she looks to have more to find to have any hopes of turning the tables, while Santorini Sun has potential but is another with a slight point to prove at present.

This can go the way of MOUNTAIN HUNTER, who was described as a 100+ horse by his rider in victory at Goodwood last time out and that would probably put him in pattern company if correct. He remains unbeaten and looks a typically progressive type for the Godolphin team. Kasperenko failed to fire last time out but previously looked progressive, while Arab Moon has a superb record at this venue and has Silvestre De Sousa on board once more. Bush House and Western Duke are others to note.

MIAMI SUNSET won well at Yarmouth last month when returning from a six-month absence and could have more scope for improvement now tackling handicaps. The three-year-old got on well with Silvestre De Sousa last time and could account for Showmethewayavrilo, who has a habit of going well at this venue. Robbie Roo Roo arrives in reasonable form and finished second at Wolverhampton last time despite being kicked by another horse at the start and his last triumph came at this venue earlier in the summer.

Allee Bleue is a rare runner on the all-weather for Philip Hobbs and shouldn't have any issues with this two mile distance, while similar comments apply to Jack Bear, who can boast some UK Flat form but hasn't been witnessed in this sphere for 333 days. Whitecliff Park shaped like a Polytrack winner in waiting here recently, but this can go the way of GOLLY MISS MOLLY, who arrives on a course and distance hat-trick and could still be ahead of the assessor.
