English-based handlers have landed two of the last three renewals, and SWISS CROSS is an interesting contender. The Phil McEntee-trained 10-year-old ran well on his only previous visit here in 2015, finishing third in a competitive contest, and this drop down to six furlongs looks a wise move. My Good Brother took this last year and again has the services of Colin Keane on board, while Bien Chase and the hat-trick seeking Captain Bob are others to note.

SHABRA EMPEROR ran well on his last visit to the beach when third two years ago and the son of Holy Roman Emperor looks poised to go well now dropped down to six furlongs. Strategic Heights is well known to Irish punters and makes his stable bow for Jamie Osborne, while Free To Roam stayed on in eyecatching fashion at Bellewstown last week and has the talented Oisin Orr on board with his 5lb claim.

Haraz makes his debut for Jamie Osborne and looks a marginal form pick over stablemate Ceyhan, while Silk Cravat ran much better at the Curragh last time out and should appreciate this extra couple of furlongs. DANDY ROCK ran a race full of promise when second on the Polytrack at Dundalk last month, and the four-year-old looks good enough to shed the maiden tag in a contest that shouldn't take too much winning.

EMPEROR BOB returns to the scene of his last success having won this contest 12 months ago for David Marnane and despite his last effort, which was disappointing, his recent form has been solid enough so it wouldn't be a huge surprise to see a return to form. Tidal's Baby is a model of consistency without getting his head in front and is another Jamie Osborne newcomer who merits respect, while Our Max loves Laytown and has won here twice.

Korbous is another on the card bidding for back-to-back successes and arrives in fine fettle despite not having won a race since this one 12 months ago. Palawan is interesting in a first-time tongue tie but preference is for KNOCKMAOLE BOY. Gordon Elliott's gelding has been in mostly excellent form over the summer in both codes having won four of his last six starts, and he has the assistance of Jamie Codd in the saddle.

ZANJABEEL gets a tentative vote in a field full of question marks. The son of Aussie Rules refused to race on his most recent outing at Bellewstown but he possesses the best recent form in the field and is worth chancing. Edification has his first start on the Flat for Robbie McNamara and has to enter calculations along with Monteverdi, who could well return to form.
