Insane Bolt showed signs of ability on the Flat (rated 80 at his best) and could take a step forward now sent hurdling, while Lake McKenzie, a former Aidan O'Brien-trained inmate, also merits respect. Experience often proves crucial in such races, though, and SAINT D'OROUX may take some stopping. Fourth in a Grade 3 at Fairyhouse earlier this month, he sets a fair form standard and might prove too good for these.

City Island makes his chasing debut after winning the Ballymore Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham in March and is fancied to do very well in this sphere. This trip might be too sharp for him after a 238-day absence, though, and MELON is preferred for win purposes on this occasion. A respectable second behind a smart sort in the shape of Fakir D'oudairies at Navan last month, he jumped well there and might have too much know-how for these. Sizing Pottsie may prove good enough for third.

CHACUN POUR SOI was backed ante-post for the Queen Mother Champion Chase after hammering Defi Du Seuil in a Grade 1 at Punchestown in May and is expected to further justify his lofty reputation here for Willie Mullins. An electric jumper, the seven-year-old is making up for lost time after injury issues, and should have too much for A Plus Tard, who wasn't quite at his best in a Grade 2 at Navan behind Ballyoisin 47 days ago. John Durkan runner-up Hardline could be worth adding to any potential combination bets.

Abacadabras lost little in defeat when bringing the best out of Envoi Allen in the Royal Bond at Fairyhouse and looks set to be a real player in this division at this distance. However, there should be plenty more to come from BLUE SARI, who made a pleasing hurdling debut at Punchestown. The 2019 Champion Bumper form has looked red-hot so far this season and Willie Mullins' lightly-raced four-year-old, who was second in that Grade 1 contest, can confirm his superiority over Abacadabras, who was five-lengths adrift in fourth that day. Embittered can see off Paul Hennessy's mare Heaven Help Us for third.

Gordon Elliott has a strong hand and his Thatsy is likely to be popular having opened his hurdling account at Navan last month. Stablemate Ben Dundee catches the eye on his return to hurdles and could prove leniently treated following a more than useful reappearance to finish second over fences at Navan, while Poseidon obliged favourite backers in comfortable fashion at Limerick and makes plenty of appeal switching to the handicap ranks for Charles Byrnes. However, this could go the way of MOON OVER GERMANY, who was second in a Grade 2 over fences last time and the pick of Henry De Bromhead's trio could be too classy for his rivals reverting to timber off a mark of 134.

FITZHENRY finished third in this contest 12 months ago and warmed up for this with a decent effort when chasing home Chris's Dream in the Troytown at Navan last month. The seven-year-old may have further progression to come and is capable of landing a prize of this nature. Poker Party and Plan Of Attack spearhead a strong team for Henry de Bromhead, with the pair both progressing through the ranks over fences, while No Comment, Livelovelaugh and Any Second Now are others to consider in what is typically a competitive event.

RAGNAR LODBROK shaped with plenty of promise on his racecourse debut at Fairyhouse at the start of the month, in what usually works out to be one of the strongest bumpers in Ireland. The manner in which he stayed on suggested the step up in trip would benefit him and he could prove too strong for Appreciate It, who placed on his debut for Willie Mulllins at Fairyhouse last month, and Rosencrantz, who shaped well on his hurdling bow at Navan and the addition of a tongue tie might aid his cause.
