Burren Trail looked tapped for toe in two 7f outings last year and is interesting now stepped up in trip on her seasonal return. Stablemate Athenaire is entitled to improve on her Navan debut sixth last month and also merits consideration, but for win purposes, MILITARY DEVICE gets the verdict. He was disappointing over 1m2f at Roscommon earlier in the month but is dropped in trip and could be sharper for the fitting of first-time blinkers.

Main Straits should be all the wiser for the experience gained on debut at Leopardstown earlier in the month but it might be worth taking a chance on David Wachman's newcomer, MANSION HOUSE, who is a half-brother to a spate of winners and should know his job first time out. Casino Girl steps up in trip after finishing down the field in a 6f Curragh maiden on debut and makes more appeal than Estrelita, who beat one rival home on soft ground over C&D on debut and needs to improve for the forecast better ground.

CASH OR CASUALTY struck over this trip at Naas in April and was far from disgraced at Chester last time when third behind the in-form Dr Red Eye, who enjoyed the run of the race at the head of affairs. The handicapper has raised him another 3lbs subsequently but he's generally consistent and should remain competitive. Fastidious is 9lb higher than when scoring over this trip at Leopardstown on his penultimate start and looks the main danger, though Tarrsille ran well over 6f at the Curragh latest and could thrive now stepped back up in trip.

Xsquared is fitted with a first-time hood and dropped in trip in a bid to spark some immediate improvement, having finished fourth at Navan earlier in the month. A safer option looks to be LEGAL LYRIC who showed marked improvement when notching over C&D last week and may be capable of shrugging off a subsequent 10lb rise. Cork third Blackthorn Stick and last-time-out C&D second Cookie Crumbles both look weighted to win anytime soon and also merit inclusion on the shortlist.

David Wachman supplied a one-two at Roscommon this month when Bronte confirmed odds-on status with GODDESS OF LOVE delivering a promising runner-up performance on debut, staying on steadily after being tardy from the gate. Connections will be keen to see the beautifully-bred Galileo filly attain winning brackets for paddocks value and this rates a strong opportunity for her to do so. The Halford string remains in healthy form and Drifting Mist is noteworthy after building on previous efforts when runner-up at Naas last time but Papaya could be a greater threat after showing considerable promise for John Oxx on debut.

KILLOURNEY EMPRESS is a progressive filly and always looked in control of a fair Sligo handicap just three days ago. The better ground should not inconvenience the daughter of Holy Roman Emperor and she can defy a 5lb penalty. Blue Ridge Lane has his twelfth outing of 2013 but is retaining form well and should be competitive, likewise Time Travel under Megan Carberry. The latter has finished close-up in competitive handicaps the last twice having previously obliged at Dundalk. He could well emerge as the prime threat to the selection.

A fascinating contest in which the very useful DRIVE TIME, a winner of a similar Q.R. race at Killarney last summer, may defy an absence dating back to last September. Quite at home on good ground, his wins to runs ratio (7-11) is exceptionally high. Shop Dj, another talented hurdler, landed a Dundalk maiden when last seen on the level in February last year and enjoys a fitness advantage over the selection. She rates the prime threat. Aughnacurraveel and Caim Hill, third and fifth in a race of this type earlier in the month, also merit respect.
