Artzola is returning from a break and is not without a chance of completing a four-timer but, as a result of being raised 9lb in the handicap, she is overlooked in favour of MON PETITE AMOUR who left the impression that this longer trip would suit when staying on strongly to dead-heat for second over 1m at Kempton last time out. Expected Bonus can defy being 1lb out of the handicap by reaching the frame again.

In a race where solid recent form is at a premium, KRASIVI'S BOY stands out as the most likely winner despite still being a maiden. He had the remainder well beaten when second in a similar C&D event nine days ago and might not need any improvement to go one better. Salinger should be monitored for support on his return from a lengthy break, while Milk And Sultana is entitled to be involved in the battle for minor honours.

Louisiade must enter calculations despite stepping up in trip following a brace of victories in similar 7f events at Wolverhampton and Southwell, while market support for Mine The Balance should be heeded as he is dropping in class. Preference, however, is for RAFFERTY who failed to justify short-odds favouritism in sellers either side of the New Year but must have a chance of going one better on this occasion.

FOLLOW THE FLAG was returning from an absence of over five months when beaten only a length in a similar C&D event just over a fortnight ago and is fancied to build on that good effort. Leg Sweep has been making steady progress and is the most logical alternative, although it would come as no surprise if Wassendale found considerable improvement for the experience of last month's debut effort.

Market support for well-bred newcomer Soldiers Quest or French import Lemonette should be heeded, but CHALLIS is the choice. He has improved with every race and time might confirm that he was facing an impossible task when second to Derby entry Players Please over a slightly shorter trip at Wolverhampton five weeks ago, a race in which he finished five lengths ahead of Six Day War who boosted the form by winning at Southwell just over a fortnight later.

King Of Knight is entitled to run another big race under 2lb more than when second over a slightly shorter trip at Wolverhampton last month, while Sahara Prince has been penalised just 1lb for filling the same position over this C&D almost three weeks ago. There could be more profit to be made with SAUCY, however, a previous C&D winner who has suffered only a 2lb rise in the weights for winning over 1m at Kempton despite finding herself short of room and still behind most of her rivals entering the straight.

JUST BOND appeared to lose all chance when giving his rivals a few lengths start last time, but he was only a length behind in third at the finish and must have a decent chance of regaining winning ways off the same mark. Magical Music completed a hat trick at Wolverhampton during December and seems likely to be thereabouts yet again, as does Lisathedaddy who has never finished out of the first four on polytrack and should be refreshed after a break.

Bentley has been in superb form and cannot be dismissed with any confidence despite another hike in the weights, while Convivial Spirit and Daddy Cool are also entitled to be involved in the finish yet again, but it might pay to side with HALSION CHANCER. He left the impression that there was a lot left to work on when seeing off more experienced rivals on his debut in a C&D maiden and might be capable of embarrassing the handicapper off his initial rating.
