Sunrise Lyric was heavily backed for a Lingfield maiden last month but that effort was ultimately disappointing and connections have quickly moved to drop the Rock Of Gibralter filly in class today. She could prove a handful if putting her best foot forward but the standard is set by KIRSTY'S BOY who has proved a tough nut to crack at this level and landed a decent event over 7f here two weeks ago. The consistent Tuscan King and Ant Music are feared most of the remainder.

Banks And Braes, officially rated 73, sets a fair enough standard following a sound effort when giving the useful Lovers Causeway most to think about in a maiden here over 1m 2f last month. There should be a little race to be won with him but it could be worth taking a chance on the Barry Hills-trained BLUES MUSIC, who shaped with plenty of encouragement when fourth on his Wolverhampton debut earlier this month. Understory, well backed on debut, and the newcomer Rebel Soldier are others to consider.

Mahadee is a cut above these on his best form and was a two times winner on the polytrack this time last year. However, he will need to be cherry-ripe on today's return to action and preference is for the much improved AUTUMN BLADES who has won four times since landing a Brighton claimer back in September. Only narrowly beaten by Everymanforhimself over 7f here last time, the 5-y-o has had the re-opposing Benandonner and Mr Willis behind in recent weeks and can confirm that form today. The latter is another who has risen through the ranks but he has a stiff mark to overcome now.

Quinsman has been in terrific form of late but he has no secrets from the handicapper now and he is passed over in favour of French import SPRUCE. The selection made a UK debut full of promise when touched off around here and duly made amends when landing a match with Ivestar in bloodless fashion at Southwell last time. Only 6lb higher today, he could still be well treated and looks worth siding with from the foot of the weights. The return to the polytrack should suit recent Southwell disappointment Gargano, while the in-form Kames Park (engaged to run at Wolverhampton yesterday) is also very much in the picture.

DECEMBER DRAW turned in his best effort for some time when chasing home Mister Green over C&D last month and despite facing a couple of interesting rivals this time around, a repeat performance could well be good enough. Hazzard County wasn't disgraced in stronger company here last time and merits obvious respect in this company along with recent winners Officer In Command and Cupid's Glory.

Trading Nation hinted at something like a return to his best form when third over 7f here last time but he hasn't proved the easiest to predict so far and the vote goes to PIPPBROOK MINISTAR. The selection made a debut full of promise when second to the well touted Arry's Orse here earlier this month and she can put that initial experience to good use and open her account today. The experienced Takajan and Penrod Ballantyne are others to consider.

Le Toreador is a classy sprinter on his day and could prove the one to beat if returning at his best but he ended last season a little out of sorts and a safer bet could come in the shape of IVORY SILK. Jeremy Gask's inmate turned in another solid display when second to Matsunosuke at Wolverhampton last month and deserves a change of luck today. Hoh Hoh Hoh makes more appeal than Pawan to claim third place prize money.
