Mickie shaped with plenty of promise in a course bumper on her debut for Henry Daly and, in receipt of weight against the boys now tackling timber for the first time, she warrants respect. Bab Al Salam (rated 97 on the Flat) also caught the eye when third at Huntingdon on his hurdling debut, but this could be up to HOLD COURT, who backed up a taking Fontwell performance in a bumper here two starts ago before proving a little out of his depth in a Listed event behind Shutthefrontdoor at Newbury in February.

Although she's in receipt of plenty of weight from BAJAN HERO, Rano Pano remains a maiden in both spheres after 17 career starts and David Evans' charge is preferred. The 107-rated hurdler scored in a juvenile maiden hurdle at Newton Abbot three starts ago and, while having failed to land a blow under a penalty at Worcester and Plumpton the last twice, this drop in class will suit. Reckless Romeo makes most appeal of the others.

The versatile ON THE BRIDGE arrives in good for Jeremy Scott and he's sided with on his return to the larger obstacles. Runner-up in a handicap hurdle event at Uttoxeter last time, the gelded son of Milan won with plenty up his sleeve in this sphere two starts ago and is expected to defy a 13lb rise in the weights. Sadler's Star also makes plenty of appeal and should be thereabouts off 115 if able to reproduce his most recent Huntingdon form, while Henry Hook was travelling up menacingly before unseating Harry Derham three out in a similar race earlier this month.

Qualitee hasn't been seen on a racecourse for almost a year, but arrives on a hat-trick nevertheless and will go very close if able to pick up from where she left off. A race-fit ESTEEM may just benefit, however, having restored some confidence over timber here recently. Reverting to fences off what looks a workable mark of 95, expect a patient ride over this sharp 2m trip and he's no stranger to success around here. Citrus Mark and The Grey One are others to note.

Harry Fry enjoyed his first winner as a trainer at Exeter on Tuesday and DANCINGTILMIDNIGHT can give the rookie handler further success. The two-time point winner makes her debut under Rules and should have no trouble in getting this 2m5f trip based on what she has shown between the flags. The 113-rated Danvilla also warrants close consideration with her recent C&D third having caught the eye, while Pyleigh Lass completes the shortlist on her reappearance.

DANEVA has been dropped another 5lb for her Worcester exploits a fortnight ago and gets the vote now trying this 3m trip for the first time. The reapplied cheekpieces appeared to help when third at the Midlands track last time and the daughter of Turtle Island is expected to be delivering her challenge late in the day. Secret Desert remains a maiden from 18 career starts in this sphere but he wasn't far away at Kelso when last sighted and must be noted, along with the threatening Doubletoilntrouble.

17:20 Ludlow (Class 4) (4YO plus)

The handicap finale can go the way of PIMENT D'ESTRUVAL. Tim Vaughan has his horses in good order at present and it could be significant that 5lb claimer Michael Byrne takes over in the plate for this assignment. Expect the distance winner to be held up dropping back to this 2m trip and he'll prove tough to beat if in a similar mood to when scoring at Hereford in August last year. Stevie Thunder represents the shrewd Ian Williams operation and arrives race-fit following his exploits on the level this summer, so he's also considered along with Belle De Fontenay.
