RODERICK RANDOM didn't see out his race over 2m5f at Stratford last month, failing to justify favouritism and fading into third, and may be able to better that effort now cutting back in distance. Stormbay Bomber has been raised 6lb for scoring over 2m at Southwell in May and has place claims, though a bigger danger may be recent Fontwell second Nearest The Pin. Val D'arc is also worth a market check now eased in grade.

PARTY ROCK is a Grade 3 winner over hurdles and should be all the wiser for the experience gained on his chasing bow over C&D latest. Jennie Candlish's nine-year-old is expected to have improved his jumping and is considered the safest option ahead of Monsieur Gibraltar, who is fitted with first-time blinkers, and chase debutant Impulsive American, who was denied a four-timer over hurdles/on the Flat at Musselburgh last month but has been holding his form well of late nevertheless.

Easy Street followed up his 15-length Fontwell romp when striking under a penalty over 2m4f at Uttoxeter last time. His revised mark has now come into play and he's 13lb higher than when successful 24 days ago, so perhaps it might be worth taking a chance on BAR DE LIGNE. Brian Ellison's 10-year-old has dropped 5lb lower than when scoring over track and trip last summer. Cut The Corner and Mercers Court both have place possibilities.

ONLY FOR LOVE is 2-2 since being sent over hurdles and sets the form standard for the rest to aim at after romping to a seven-length success over 2m at Worcester two weeks ago. One More Go turned in an improved effort when scoring over this trip at Worcester last time and is the one expected to put up most resistance. The pick of the remainder may be Eastview Boy, who attracted support at Hexham latest.

Rolling Maul is sure to have plenty of supporters following his six-length Worcester success, but a chance is taken on MR SHANTU. His efforts at Southwell and Worcester last month showed plenty of encouragement and Jonjo O'Neill's charge has won and finished runner-up in two previous visits to the Lincolnshire track. Philip Kirby's pair Goldan Jess and Factor Fifty both hold claims, particularly the latter whose latest victory was recorded here.

MR SNOOZY barely had to break into a sweat when winning by 19 lengths over this C&D and, although an 11lb rise will obviously make life a lot tougher, he will be fancied to follow up. Tiger Twenty Two posted a solid effort on the Flat last time and drops in grade for his hurdling return. He rates the biggest threat ahead of Marju's Quest, whose latest effort over the extended 2m2f here looked too bad to be true.

17:20 Market Rasen (Class 5) (3YO plus)

Handicap debutant KATIE'S HEN might get her own way out in front and will prove difficult to beat if arriving in the same mood as when comfortably landing a novice event at Stratford last month. In the trainer's daughter Abbie McCain, she also has a more than capable partner. Ardesia lines up off the same mark as when placed at Hexham and he should be on the premises again, while Royal Chief and Triple Eight are others to keep an eye on.
