It is impossible to look past GOLD PRESENT in the opener as he should be able to successfully concede weight to these rivals if running up to a mark of 136. David Bass has been banging in the winners of late and was successful aboard the Nicky Henderson-trained gelding when he sluiced up at Stratford 16 days ago. North Country Boy and Wings Attract are expected to battle it out for the minor money.

PHARE ISLE carries a 7lb penalty for last week's ready Huntingdon triumph and Ben Case has found his gelding another winnable opportunity. The step back up in trip brought about the required improvement at the Cambridgeshire venue and he is well worth sticking with while the ground remains in his favour. Mawaqeet won comfortably at Stratford on his latest start, and Newcastle scorer Un Noble is also considered.

CRAZY JACK is lightly raced for his age and the point-to-point winner could be on a decent mark going back into a handicap. Successful in a maiden chase contest on his debut under Rules at Towcester and second to a useful form yardstick at Exeter over hurdles, Kim Bailey's charge is well worth siding with off 118. Steel Summit is a course winner but perhaps the handicapper has caught up with him now. Frizzo is also noted.

LORD LANDEN looked in need of further when he stayed on for second over the extended 2m3f at Towcester last time out and he was sent off favourite so perhaps he will reward punters who keep the faith. Less Time is a course winner having dotted up in a similar handicap over 2m4f here two starts back so must be taken seriously, while Brass Monkey could go well from the foot of the weights.

Favorite Girl lost little in defeat when bumping into Stephanie Frances at Ludlow and is expected to be thereabouts again, while Engrossing and Crinkle Crags also come into the reckoning. LADY BUTTONS finished second in the Listed mares' bumper at Aintree's Grand National meeting last year, however, and although she's only won once from four attempts over hurdles, she makes plenty of appeal lining up in a handicap for the first time off 117.

LEAN BURN usually gives his supporters a good run for their money and is just 3lb higher than when he justified favouritism at Wetherby in February. He gets the verdict on that basis, but Queen Of Epirus ran well, despite not getting anywhere near runaway winner King's Chorister, for second at Newcastle latest and is shortlisted along with Whatsupjack.

WADE HARPER, a point-to-point winner in January, shaped with enough promise on his Haydock debut to suggest a bumper of this nature is within his grasp. David Dennis' charge was beaten just four lengths at the Merseyside track and makes plenty of appeal with the prospect of improvement forthcoming. Boy In A Bentley represents a stable in good form at present and is considered on his racecourse introduction, and similar sentiments apply to Apple Of Our Eye.
