Knighton filled the runner-up berth in a similar event at Ludlow before being edged out in a match race at Huntingdon back in May. The son of Farhh has scope for progression on just his third start in a handicap and returns in what looks a winnable race. However, SUN ART has the benefit of a more recent outing under his belt and shades preference with ground conditions sure to be in his favour. Ballygeary is a previous course winner that must also enter calculations.
LATIN was given a poor ride on last time but the multiple Flat winner looks to be on a good mark based on his maiden form and he should get a good pace to aim at here. He is selected ahead of the consistent Sun Art whose latest run is worth marking up as he went off too quickly. The unexposed Knighton is also feared on his return from a short break. His penultimate run has been boosted as has his C&D midfield effort in the winter.

NIGHTFLYER broke his maiden tag at Uttoxeter and won that race with enough in hand to suggest he can cope with a 7lb penalty at this stage. Who's Glen carries the same burden for his Bangor handicap triumph on his penultimate start and can also play a leading role because this is easier than the class 2 series final he contested at Worcester recently. Downtown Nashville can fend off point-to-point winner Port Glen One to claim third.
All of the quartet can be given a chance here but NIGHTFLYER relished the step up in trip when defeating a next time out winner last time so is picked to follow up. Downtown Nashville may ideally want even further than this in time but he finished well on debut and the first time cheekpieces may sharpen him up early. WHITEWINEWEDNESDAY was reported to be in season when she was pulled up at Limerick in May and that run can be readily excused. Having shown determination to win her final start for Willie Mullins in a handicap hurdle at Sedgefield, there is every chance she can find further improvement for the switch to fences now in the care of Dan Skelton. Walk In The Valley was a close second here back in November and may fill the same position this time. Hiero Sport is suggested as the best alternative.
WHITEWINEWEDNESDAY comes from a top Irish stable and had a bit in hand when shedding her maiden tag over hurdles on these shores last time. She looks ahead of her mark and the point winner should have more to offer in this discipline so gets the verdict. Blue Du Neuf showed promise over hurdles in Ireland and was still going well when departing last time. His opening chase mark looks extremely generous and looks a big threat despite his lack of fitness. Walk In The Valley proved consistent over hurdles and boasts some useful course form so can also make his presence felt on his chase debut.

The Twiston-Davies outfit have been in great nick of late and the returning SHABALKO D'HERM could add to their tally. His form tailed off after notching up a brace of novice hurdle victories last year, but the point-to-point winner goes chasing with plenty of untapped potential and a mark of 120 could be within his compass. Thickthorn Tom has been in excellent form since the spring and is the obvious danger, while Lermoos Legend and Court In A Storm need to put falls behind them.
Plenty arrive in form here including Thickthorn Tom who has enjoyed a productive summer. He will be suited by the quick conditions and holds strong claims having chased home a useful recruit last time. However he has crept up the weights and may now be in the grip of the handicapper. The frustrating LERMOOS LEGEND hasn't won since last autumn but he's been admirably consistent in defeat since over trips on the sharp side. He should relish this test and can take advantage of a light weight. Dual hurdles winner Shabalko d'Herm represents a yard where horses tend to improve for fences so the point winner is also a threat.

SPOT ON SOPH and Rebecca Hitchen teamed up to score at Sedgefield before continuing their successful partnership at Southwell. There were only two finishers that day, but the fact Sam England's 10-year-old escapes a penalty could be crucial and the hat-trick is very much on the cards. Parikarma had Leave Her To Me's measure at Stratford two starts back and that form is likely to be upheld.
Spot On Soph has been in career best form recently and escapes a penalty for dispatching an unexposed rival last time. She holds obvious claims given her good course record but she does have some major stamina concerns stepping up in distance. Instead it may be best to side with in form PARIKARMA who has proven her stamina in recent starts. Her form has been franked and she remains on a competitive mark so is a strong selection. Leave Her To Me has dropped below her last winning mark and bounced back to form following a wind op last time. She can also play a part in the finish.

This probably won't take much winning and it looks safest to side with RATEMENOW. Susan Corbett's gelding left his novice hurdle form behind to fill the runner-up spot on his handicap bow back in March and a 2lb rise should be no barrier to success if picking up where he left off. Upton's Mighty Oak and Footage Detectives head the remainder.
An unexposed field but Ratemenow has at least shown some good form in a handicap off a similar mark. He will be suited by conditions on his return but may just need his first outing since the spring. Return With Gold has been below his best in both codes this summer but the multiple Flat winner has been given a fair opening mark on his juvenile form and his jockey booking suggests a big run is expected. However a chance is taken on FOOTAGE DETECTIVES who still looked green in maidens in the spring. She has shaped as if she would relish this step up in trip and starts out in handicaps off a lenient looking mark.
