LAND LEAGUE did some good work late in the day here two weeks ago and can only improve for this slight step up in distance. The eight-year-old remains a maiden after four starts over fences, but looks ready to open his account now. Perpignan showed more over hurdles at Southwell and has long shaped as though chasing would be his game, while first-time cheekpieces are expected to spark improvement from Tanrudy.
Not a deep event and PERPIGNAN could be set for a much better showing with the switch to fences and handicaps over a longer trip sure to suit. Tanrudy probably has a race like this in him, while Ballycrystal Court could do better in this sphere on the back of his first go over the larger obstacles last month.

COURT AFFAIRS has been knocking hard on the door and may be able to turn the tables on his recent Uttoxeter conqueror Jen's Boy now fitted with a first-time tongue-tie. Sleepy Haven drops back from 3m after finishing fifth at Perth and can scrap it out for the silver medal with Farmer Boy, who won over an extended 2m4f here in April.
Only a head separated JEN'S BOY and Court Affairs when the pair finished 1-2 at Uttoxeter last month. The former is now 1 lb worse off for that success but there is a suspicion he may yet have more to offer now he's up-and-running and he is fancied to confirm those placings here. OKSANA struck over track and trip when last sighted and can shake off an 8lb rise to notch a double. Ourmullion attracted support when fourth over 2m1f at Newton Abbot and it will be interesting to see if the money is down for him again now he steps up to this longer trip. The pick of the remainder may be Tingo In The Tale, who picked up the silver medal off this mark over 2m at Uttoxeter but still needs to prove his stamina.
WILD SAM is a risky proposition to a degree having exited at the final flight on all 3 outings this term but he's clearly well treated based on what he's done leading up to those incidents (had the race at his mercy on 2 occasions) so he should be able to take this if he can get round. Ourmullion and Oksana have both won recently but don't look to have as much in hand as the selection.
