Nothing to get overly excited about here but dual Flat winner NIGHT ORBIT sets a fair standard having filled the runner-up spot in each of his two starts over hurdles so far, the last of which came over 2m at Plumpton, and he is fancied to open his account under rules today. Dinarius drops in class having last been seen contesting a Grade 1 event at Aintree and will be expected to make an impact, with Flat recruit Duty Free another worth considering on his hurdling debut.

MAJORCA caught the eye when making a promising first start for Pam Sly when finishing second at Southwell late last month. Still feasibly treated on the pick of his form when with Ferdy Murphy, he looks poised to strike and is preferred to the hat-trick-seeking Newgate who was always doing enough when winning at Wetherby ten days ago. The booking of Tony McCoy aboard recent Sedgefield fourth Skylancer takes the eye and he completes the short-list.

Snurgecal is worth a second look now he steps up to this trip to make his handicap debut, but it could be best to stick with FRIENDS OF TINA who ran out an easy winner here last month and can defy a 10lb rise in the handicap over this longer trip. Bob 'N' You did not run too badly at Towcester over 2m4f last time and could be suited by the extra yardage, so he also merits respect.

Sir Harry Cool left his previous form behind when opening his account over 2m4f at Wincanton last month and could be feasibly treated switched to handicap company today, but he was a fortunate winner having been left in the lead at the last and preference today is for SEA CLIFF. He seemed to be getting the hang of the jumping game when last seen over hurdles in October, landing a novices' event over 2m4f in October and, fit from the Flat, he looks primed to run a big race for the in-form Jonjo O'Neill yard. Oniz Tiptoes could figure on his hurdling return, while Fortunate Dave and Kilcannon Surpreme have place claims.

SPRINGFIELD RAKI proved he was none-the-worse for being brought down here last month when opening his hurdling account over this C&D last time out and could take some stopping in his follow-up bid. A smart bumper performer last year, there should be more to come from him over timber and it won't be a problem if the ground becomes testing. The biggest threat appears to be Tom's Toybox, a useful chaser who won a decent handicap in that sphere in March and he could run a big race on his hurdle return. Pokanoket is moving in the right direction and rates the best of the remainder.

Phoenix Eye has been in good form recently but Friday's persistent rain at the Lincolnshire track will have done his chances no good. Dreams Jewel arrives in good form with a solid second at Wincanton following on from a head success over 2m1f at Exeter. He is entitled to plenty of respect but the vote goes to top weight TOSS THE CABER. A model of consistency over hurdles, he was a 10l third behind Waltham Abbey at Uttoxeter last time and he will be there or thereabouts here.

The market as usual will provide the best guide here and any significant support for Malcolm Jefferson's Mac Aeda would be of particular interest but the vote goes to MOORHEIGH. A sister to a bumper and point winner, she showed plenty of promise when second to Double Expresso on her debut at Southwell and could go one better in this finale. Brian Hughes is a jockey to be feared here and his Pocket Guide is another to note in the betting.
