Early Applause stepped up on his reappearance effort at Perth when placed here last month and remains on fair mark, while Renegotiate shaped with plenty of encouragement at Wetherby and is of interest. However, IVANS BACK stuck to his task really well when winning over 2m3f here two weeks ago and despite a 7lb rise in the weights, he seems sure to mount another bold challenge.

Izbushka made a promising start to life over hurdles when second at Hexham and ought to win one of these in the coming months, but it is ISTIMRAAR who is of most interest. Much the best of these on level, he has been snapped up to join the excellent Philip Kirby stable and is sure to know his job first time over hurdles. French import Goodbye Dancer warrants obvious respect given his connections and will be worth a second look in the betting.

RUM AND BUTTER was the highest rated of these over hurdles and has made a smooth transition to fences, registering wins at Kempton and Stratford last month, and despite having to concede plenty of weight all round today, he is fancied to extend his unbeaten record in this sphere. Scots Gaelic made a promising start to life over the larger obstacles at Hexham recently and this slightly shorter trip might suit him, while chasing debutant Vinnie My Boy is worth respecting given his useful hurdles form.

GOLDEN HORN is really getting the hang of the game now, following her much-improved Cartmel runner-up effort with a wide-margin success at Uttoxeter last week, and she is worth sticking with. The rest don't look anything special, with Tender Surprise probably the pick having last been seen running with credit in a novice hurdle event at Huntingdon back in November. Brent Pelham has the scope to improve but certainly needs to following his moderate hurdling debut effort.

16:35 Market Rasen (Class 3) (5YO plus)

Decent ground clearly suits TITCHWOOD well and he returned to form with a smooth success at Aintree last month. He looks good value for a 4lb rise in the weights and is expected to strike again for the in-form Jonjo O'Neill stable. Grandads Horse would have claims if coming back to form while recent C&D winner Book'Em Danno has to be respected despite facing a tougher task this time around.

17:10 Market Rasen (Class 4) (5YO plus)

Although not always proving the most consistent, TAYARAT has always had plenty of ability and bounced back to form in emphatic style when winning by a wide margin at Southwell on Wednesday. He isn't one to trust entirely but anything like a repeat performance would make him hard to beat and it will be disappointing if he can't prove good too strong for Etania and Star Presenter, both runners-up last time.

CHILLY MISS maintained her unbeaten record when once again scoring over this C&D two weeks ago and Malcolm Jefferson looks to have a very smart mare on his hands indeed. The booking of AP McCoy for newcomer Southfield Royale catches the eye and a big run from him first time out would not surprise, while Probably Sorry might be capable of improving on his encouraging debut offering at this venue.
