Stay De Night looks the likeliest newcomer and the son of Shamardal wouldn't have to be anything special to score on his belated debut for Dermot Weld. He's presumably had his problems, though, and BAD NEWS BEAR, with the benefit of experience and in the care of the in-form Ger Lyons, looks a safer option. He was noted staying on quite nicely behind Beyond Brilliance (winner since) in a Fairyhouse maiden last month and should relish this first attempt at a mile. Kodiac's Back also shaped with promise last time when fourth at this venue and looks a live danger.

TOSCANELLI, least fancied of the Ballydoyle pair on his Leopardstown debut this month, shaped nicely enough until fading in the closing stages. The Galileo colt should have learnt plenty for that initial experience and this doesn't look the strongest of maidens. Soebroto disappointed on debut having been backed into favouritism here this month but is obviously well thought of and it's noteworthy to see connections reach for the headgear at such an early stage. Improvement should be forthcoming while Innish Man, a son of Fastnet Rock, looks the likeliest newcomer for the Weld team.

It's hardly a problem for DOONARD PRINCE to stand out as the majority of these are struggling for form at present, whereas Elizabeth Doyle's gelding followed up a comfortable Naas success with a career-best performance when only succumbing to the late thrust of Big Bad Lily in a typically competitive Curragh sprint handicap. Only raised 2lb for that excellent effort, he's definitely the one to beat on that evidence as he'll have no issue with the extra furlong. Knights Templar still looks a few pounds too high but is respected along with Avalanche, who's possibly the one with scope for improvement.

Sunlit Rome may have top weight but has yet to show form to match his classy name although he's a rare unexposed sort here. Note the son of Holy Roman Emperor for any significant market move. Hatton Cross and The Dancing Lord were only separated by half a length when second and third respectively here this month and the formbook points to there being little between them now. Ever Yours is a place option off bottom weight, but TSAR PAUL could be good enough if repeating the quality of a useful runner-up effort behind Doonard Prince at Naas on his penultimate start.

Akaliyna rates an interesting newcomer and connections will want to find a race for the Holy Roman Emperor filly to boost her paddocks value. Just As Well has gone off at big prices all starts but is progressing steadily, although handicaps look the way to go with her. Kabjoy arrives the back of three successive seconds, most recently when just inched out in a Curragh handicap, but RED RAVEN boasts the best juvenile form by far, highlighted by a close third to subsequent Irish 1000 Guineas winner Marvellous at Navan last October. Hopefully she's ready for this return to action.

Blue Ridge Lane came with a right rattle to land the spoils in a 12f Fairyhouse handicap nine days ago but this C&D winner has yet to land back-to-back successes. Calle Aneto, the other recent winner in the field, compensated for a narrow Dundalk defeat with a gutsy success at Sligo three days ago. Another prominent showing is anticipated but a chance is taken on TRANS CITY, who needs forgiving for a way below-par effort latest but he'd previously delivered consistent form in similar handicaps. He goes well for Ana O'Brien, while Sixteen Again is unexposed and may progress.

Mourad hasn't been in the best of form over hurdles in the last 18 months and it will be fascinating to see how he reacts to the absence of timber, while chaser Pass The Hat makes his Flat debut at the age of seven. Fire Fighter was a frequent scorer on the level for Sir Mark Prescott in 2011 but the jury's out on him at present. Gusty Rocky just lasted home at Tramore last time, but consistent MARCHESE MARCONI has struck up a good relationship with his pilot and the pair can go one better after just missing out at Listowel latest.
