Hugo Froud's STEELY ADDITION has bumped into some useful rivals on his two Rules appearances so far in Bags Grove and Movewiththetimes, and this looks much calmer waters now as he seeks his first hurdles victory in the hands of Nico De Boinville. Indian Reel is an interesting contender, having his first start for Fergal O'Brien, and was a point winner for Mags Mullins when last seen before crossing the Irish sea to join the Gloucestershire handler. He has to be considered while Gris De Pron is also respected on the back of his Hereford triumph and is sure to make the frame.

MY LITTLE CRACKER could be hard to beat on her hat-trick bid having scored readily here at the Lincolnshire venue last time and a 5lb rise for that shouldn't halt her progress too much. Twenty Eight Guns reverts back to hurdles now having struggled of late over fences and is considered, while Miss Spent could be seen to much better effect now dropping back in trip and is another who makes the shortlist.

A 4lb rise for Muthabir's Taunton victory looks fair and a follow up is possible from Richard Phillips' seven-year-old. However there could still be more to come from BRIAN BORANHA who gets the vote off running off the bottom weight in this contest and has been a consistent performer this season who deserved to get a victory to his name. Overtheedge has been knocking on the door lately and Bowie is also considered with Tom Broughton taking 10lb off the horses back.

THE YANK was fresh from a recent spin on the flat when winning at Ludlow last time out, jumping well and putting a weak field to the sword. This looks harder with a 7lb penalty but he looks to be in the form of his life and could still be improving at the age of eight. Crafty Roberto should go well with the in-form Harry Bannister booked, while Virnon has been unlucky in recent weeks and deserves a change of luck soon.

CLUBS ARE TRUMPS bounced back to form with an impressive success at Chepstow recently, relishing the step to an extended 2m7f, and Jonjo O'Neill's charge can stay on strongly to defy an 11lb hike in the ratings if in the same mood. Ultimatum Du Roy only found a couple too good when bidding for a double at Ludlow and is a previous C&D winner, so could be the one capitalise if the selection fluffs his lines. Twojayslad, also a track and trip winner, rates best of the rest.

GIN COBBLER was a bit guessy over his fences at Wetherby last month but takes a drop in class and is likely to have been schooled intensively by Victor Thompson. An earlier fall might be the reason for that but he is capable at this level when putting everything together and could account for Wish In A Well, who ran well at Fontwell recently and should be suited by race conditions. Whos De Baby can prove next best.

It is never easy defying a winner's penalty in these events but COUNTRY'N'WESTERN shaped with plenty of promise when making a winning debut with ease at Carlisle in November and a number of winners have come out of that race since. He is fancied to make it two from two on his reappearance, although Infinite Sun is must be feared having contested a Listed contest on his sole start since scoring over this C&D first time out. Haafapiece also has a penalty but gets 5lb off the aforementioned duo thanks to a weight-for-age allowance and he only found on too good at Huntingdon latest.
