TOP VILLE BEN was bang in contention when falling three out at Chepstow last time and providing that tumble hasn't left its mark he could be tough to beat here, even though he concedes weight all around. Golden Town makes some appeal on his Musselburgh second on his penultimate outing and should be thereabouts, while Ramonex has place claims if building on his latest effort at Towcester now debuting for a new stable.

UT MAJEUR AULMES needs to leave behind his latest effort at Newbury, though that trip probably stretches him and he can be expected to improve for the return to 2m, as well as for the fitting of first-time cheekpieces. Valseur Du Granval is a model of consistency and is the one expected to put up most resistance. The well handicapped Mr Mole is proving difficult to catch right, while Duke Of Navan has a 550-day absence to overcome.

MASH POTATO opened his hurdles account at Uttoxeter earlier in the month and is expected to remain competitive following a 5lb rise. Louloumills landed a 2m4f novice hurdle at Sedgefield when last sighted and is worth a market check now cutting back in trip on his return to handicaps. Another worthy of consideration is Miss Mackie, who is sporting first-time cheekpieces on her return from a break and merits a market check.

SPICULAS shaped with promise on his fencing bow when second over this trip at Carlisle, with Ryalex finishing further back in third, and is expected to go one better with the benefit of that initial experience now behind him. Chain Of Beacons followed up his Newcastle victory with a solid performance at Kelso last time and is nominated as the main danger to the selection.

Value At Risk wears a first-time tongue-tie in addition to his cheekpieces but is yet to fully convince over the larger obstacles and could be worth taking on once more. Fergal O'Brien often targets this meeting so Mystifiable has to be respected, though preference is for SPECIAL CATCH, who has been going well since joining Malcolm Jefferson and shaped well at Newcastle earlier this month when second. The 10-year-old could have one more decent victory in him this spring and a mark of 139 might still be within his grasp.

HELLO GEORGE was heavily supported in the betting when scoring with ease at Newbury last month and he took advantage of a nice handicap mark with a routine victory. He is versatile with regards to ground and looks to be worth following for a yard that is 6-18 with their runners here in recent years. Total Assets arrives on a hat-trick after two clear wins and could still be fairly treated off a mark of 116, while Wicked Willy and Isaacstown Lad should run their usual honest races.

TWIST ON GINGE represents a handler with a solid record at this venue and first-time cheekpieces could assist the five-year-old, who remains open to plenty of improvement and could relish this drop in distance. A mark of 110 looks fair and Jamie Bargary's 3lb claim could help him over the line, most likely at the expense of Starplex, who made a successful handicap debut at Newcastle last time and looks poised to go close once more. The consistent Black Ivory and the unexposed Stick To The Plan also merit serious consideration.
