Rayvin Black opened his account over 2m at Ludlow last month and, like Uttoxeter maiden scorer Oyster Shell, is tasked with conceding weight in the shape of a penalty today. It may therefore pay to side with BOWIE, who was far from disgraced when second over 2m3f here in March and bounced back from a flat Ascot performance when landing minor money over 2m6f at Sedgefield latest. This sharper test may unlock the improvement needed for him to get his head in front.

BROTHER SCOTT scored over 2m1f at Sedgefield last time despite his rider dropping his whip after the last. A 5lb rise may not fully reflect his superiority at the line and Sue Smith's charge is therefore fancied to land a quick double. Grimley Girl bounced back to form when second over 2m4f at Fakenham last time and heads the list of possible dangers from dropped-in-trip Hexham third Grey Command.

BOUND FOR GLORY has winning form between the flags and over hurdles and shaped with promise on his chase bow at Southwell earlier in the month. Entitled to improve with the benefit of that experience under his belt and also for the slight drop back in trip, Donald McCain's charge rates the one to beat. A Grade 2 novice hurdle winner, General Miller commands respect along with fellow chase debutant Bar De Ligne, a course winner over timber.

WAKE YOUR DREAMS opened his account over 2m5f at Ludlow earlier in the month, staying on well in the closing stages to score. This longer trip promises to unlock further improvement in Jennie Candlish's five-year-old, who landed a bumper here on debut last year. Irish raider Darenjan has been running well over fences and commands respect off a 6lb lower hurdles mark, with recent course (2m1f) third Cool Baranca also considered.

CHURCH FIELD has made light work of a lenient handicap mark when scoring by five lengths on both his last two outings at Newton Abbot and Ludlow. Now 18lb higher than when first assessed, Jonjo O'Neill will be hoping this longer trip can unlock further improvement in his charge to ensure he stays ahead of the assessor. Last-time-out distance second Combustible Kate and penalised 2m scorer Fitandproperjob look best of the rest on the back of solid course efforts.

ADIOS ALONSO is 4lb higher than when scoring over this trip at Southwell at the start of the month and rates the one to beat if building on his subsequent Worcester third off this same mark. Knockanarrigan scored over C&D on his penultimate start before possibly finding his stamina stretched at Kilbeggan latest so looks a big danger reverting to this shorter trip. Goldan Jess and King Mak are others considered in a competitive heat.

COOLKING hinted a return to winning ways was imminent when second off 1lb lower at Killarney and is expected to improve on that effort and go one better now stepping up to this slightly longer trip. The list of dangers is headed by last-time-out Newton Abbot second Cruchain, who is 1lb higher today, and Kauto The Roc, who also landed the silver medal on his latest outing, grabbing second over 3m at Huntingdon.

Darcey Diva looked on good terms with herself when returning from a break to finish a creditable second over 2m at Southwell earlier in the month. David Pipe's mare is expected to finish in the shake-up once again, though marginal preference is for THE ROAD AHEAD, who was beaten by under a length over this trip at Stratford latest and seemingly has less improvement to find. Nicky Henderson's debutant Lady Of Provence cannot be left out of calculations either.
