HURTLE (1) wears the blinkers now. He has run some competitive races in Melbourne. Anything like his best there has to go mighty close in this type of race. STAR ESPRESSO (3) is a very consistent filly this time in. She did well to score last start at Gawler. The winkers are now applied too. CHAMPAGNE DREAMS (2) fought on well to win last month. She might have come back a better horse. THEY CALL ME ALVIN (4) did win first up at this track. Should get a good run too. BRAZEN BOY (5) will show speed once again.

SHEEZABIGDEEL (3) won't be far away and should tough this out nicely. She is bred to love the trip and should be ready to peak now. Must be hard to beat in this. BRONSKI (2) has put two solid runs back to back. He has clearly needed ground. ALL HARD WOOD (1) will set up the tempo and can run it to suit himself. You'd think he would have no issues getting over longer. TURF MAN (4) needs to lift but is dropping in weight. SENTRY GATE (7) could get into the placings again.

STARS THE LIMIT (3) showed nice enough ability at his first two outings. He came from well back in those when fancied. The market will say if there has been improvement. KASAMI (6) hasn't raced at metro level but this is hardly a strong event anyway. The gear changes have gone on now. REDWINELOVER (10) has sat forward at every start. Will have the light weight again. SAINT OLGA (7) will also have plenty of speed. The last bit is the issue. TUPOLEU (4) had nothing go right second time around. He could do more. Watch the debutants.

HEKA EXPRESS (1) came from midfield to score second up. That was a month back and she likes it on the fresh side. No reason in this company that she can't do it again. DANTREE (9) is racing well too. She just has to bring that to a BM72. PARIANO (2) is a value player after being in the betting her last outing. Might get forgotten in the market. TANJA'S DREAM (7) always shows speed and has built a lovely record. The short course is the key. MODEAR (3) comes off a Flemington effort which was OK. Can't be left out either.

STEALTHY LUCAS (3) is value coming off his last effort. He is bred to want even further and must have done well on the quick back up. Hard to see why he was those odds early. VARDANI (4) though is tough to beat if he goes there. He won with ease at Warrnambool. Is well placed if he's in Adelaide. TRADEWIND (7) is in a similar boat. He did put them away two weeks ago even if in a lower grade. WERTHEIMER (5) will stick right on but back in trip isn't the easiest. RUNBRO (2) could place again. BEA TEMPTED (1) is the other strong contender but will get back.

KUNG FU FIGHTING (7) did a lovely job to win his first time to the track at this course. He should thrive on getting over even further and the gap between runs won't hurt. NOT ALONE (5) will be getting a soft run in transit from his low draw. The claim is a positive too. OATH OF OMERTA (6) is an interesting one first up. He didn't do much last campaign but went into tougher races. This is nowhere near those opponents. PERSIAN EMPIRE (8) must have had decent excuses to be beaten so far as he was consistent prior to that. CRYPTO CURRENCY (3) could have some fans. He should be ready to peak now.

RISING SPHERE (1) may not be a part of that early pressure this time but can charge the last bit. Has to be considered at his best form. APPALACHIAN (2) did look good winning when resuming. He rattled from last to score on the Parks track. There will be ample pace here to do the same thing. SEA WITNESS (5) is another who would be fast out but draws wide. Would be shorter bar for that gate. SELF SUFFICIENT (6) has run into some decent horses of late. He would love a wet track. DESIRED (12) did win her only time this course and distance.

LAKE'S FOLLY (4) would love there to be speed. He gets back and looks for runs and despite the drop back of a furlong, he'll still be hitting the line. POINT BLAZE (8) can't be that far away herself. She ran a race in one of these two back. Just wants a sweet run with the extra ground this time. MAY BE FATE (5) has come out of some decent form races of late. Just might have found the mile that bit far three weeks ago. VANCITY GEM (12) will sit off the back of the pace here and find the post. A drier track would help her cause. SPECTACLE (9) does enjoy the 1400m.

BETTA EDDIE (6) has won here before and his style won't harm either. Hoping barrier one isn't a drawback though. JOURNEY TO PETRA (5) will show speed again. Did have some excuses at Gawler. LIANNE (13) keeps finding the placings without winning. Could easily happen once again. COOL MAGNUM (4) is one to watch. You'd think the 1200m is too short but he will be strong late.
