The form of BROKEN HALO's third-placed finish at Chepstow last time appears to be very strong and Paul Nicholls' gelding should take plenty of stopping today based on that evidence. Mario De Pail fell early on in that contest but he had chased home a well-handicapped rival on his chasing debut at Ffos Las, while Gustavian is the clear pick of the remainder.

DUBROVNIK HARRY displayed plenty of promise when finishing third on his racecourse debut over 2m here a month ago and he could be hard to beat today with the benefit of that experience. American Gerry finished a nose in front of the selection on that occasion but he may not be able to confirm that form today. Forever Des Long has been knocking hard on the door of late and should be in the mix once again.

Those with previous hurdling experience do not set a high standard and so clear preference is for GAMARET, who made a winning debut in a bumper at Ffos Las in October. Judicial Law won an Irish bumper in May and has shown some promising signs in two two starts for these connections. The rest do not inspire a lot of confidence but Sweet Nightingale is arguably the pick of them.

DAWSON CITY was not disgraced when finishing fourth in the Borders National at Kelso last month. The 13-year-old gelding seems to relish extreme tests of stamina and he can add third course win to his career tally with testing conditions likely to be to his advantage. Laskalin was sent off favourite for the Welsh Grand National Trial at Chepstow and he is not to be underestimated after a below-par effort, while Flowing Cadenza is lightly raced over fences and she could find improvement tackling this longer trip.

KEEP ROLLING bumped into an improver when finishing second at Uttoxeter last month. The nine-year-old gelding remains lightly raced for his age and he could be open to further improvement in this grade after a 1lb rise. Dock Road is yet to fire this season but he is respected returning to the scene of his only career success and he is likely to appreciate the testing conditions, while Chambard is another to note.

Daytime Ahead has a difficult task from 7lb out of the handicap, but she did win this when it was last run in 2020 off a higher mark. She was well beaten at Wincanton on her first start since March and may do better now. Getaweapon will probably try to make all and may do better after her wind operation, but HEVA ROSE could prove hard to beat after her promising Lingfield third on similar going.

Ben Bulben is well bred as a son of Yeats and he is well worth a market watch here for any signs of confidence ahead of his debut. KNOWSLEY ROAD finished second at Tralee in his only point-to-point, beaten less than a length, and makes his debut under Rules here for Paul Nicholls, so could take all of the beating. Astronomic View is another to take seriously.
