MAHLERVOUS showed a game attitude to strike at Kelso in December and could follow up here for Warren Greatrex and Harry Bannister. The eight-year-old has only gone up 1lb for that success and may have more to offer before a tilt at the spring festivals on his preferred better ground. Getaway Trump was disappointing at Newbury last time, though that did come in Grade 2 company and this is a drop in class. Gaelik Coast is better than what he showed at Haydock 49 days ago and might also bounce back.

It is interesting to see Oakley Brown back on UK soil after a mixed spell in Ireland with Joseph O'Brien and he could steer OSCAR CEREMONY to success for Brian Ellison. Second the last twice, including here on New Year's Day, the 10-year-old deserves a change of luck and only races off 3lb higher this time. Aloomomo won on reappearance at Kelso in November and could go close again after 91 days off, while Pougne Bobbi looks worth a market check following a wind operation.

Locker Room Talk is 2-3 on soft ground in his career so far and could prove a force here on stable debut for Stuart Coltherd. The eight-year-old was successful on his last start for Nigel Twiston-Davies at Kempton, though the 111-day absence is slight deterrent and this can go the way of CHRISTOPHER WOOD. The six-year-old only found the well-handicapped Cadzand too hot to handle over the festive period and Angus Cheleda's 7lb claim should really helps matters here. Torigni was third in that same contest and also merits respect.

The 2m4f of the 'Auld Reekie' Handicap Chase proved a touch too far for RETURN TICKET here on New Year's Day, but can get back on track returned to two miles. Brian Hughes takes over in the saddle aboard the eight-year-old, who was a commanding winner over course and distance on his penultimate start. Rockadenn was unbeaten over fences in France and it is interesting that he tackles the larger obstacles on his first outing for Paul Nicholls, who has won the last three renewals of this. He has undergone wind surgery since joining the Ditcheat handler and the five-year-old knows what the winner's enclosure looks like. Defi Sacre is a consistent performer and the track-and-trip winner is only 3lb higher than his most recent success, while Rikoboy was a cosy winner at Market Rasen in December and can't be ignored despite a 13lb hike.

Keith Dalgleish saddles three with live chances here in Three Castles, Balranald and track-and-trip winner Breguet Boy, while Spark Of Madness is an interesting handicap debutant and the pick of Lucinda Russell's duo. Be The Difference made the podium off this mark at Fakenham and is now dropped back in trip. However, it is worth noting the booking of Kevin Brogan aboard HEREIA, who was sent off favourite at Plumpton last time. The five-year-old unseated his rider on that occasion, but has a chance of compensation here off the same rating.

Le Breuil seems at his best over marathon trips, having finished third in the Becher Chase at Aintree and then filling the same spot in the Classic Chase at Warwick. He runs off the same mark as that latest effort here but has to give weight all round. Dino Bay did well to beat Classic Escape over this sort of trip at Kelso last time but Iain Jardine's charge reportedly benefited from going left-handed that day and is the other way round here, so preference is for THE FERRY MASTER. Sandy Thomson's gelding has been hugely impressive over fences this year, winning at Kelso and Newcastle in recent outings. He is climbing the ratings but could still prove tough to beat here. Bob Mahler won this race last year and finished third in the Kim Muir straight after, but has failed to complete in three starts this term.

ALCALA ran a solid enough race when ninth in the Foxhunter at the Cheltenham Festival when last seen and Paul Nicholls' grey could prove too classy for his rivals in this. Clondaw Westie ran well to score in a hunter chase at Ffos Las last spring but he was pulled up in a point-to-point last time, so perhaps Federici is a bigger danger. Donald McCain's charge won easily at Carlisle in October and could relish this drop in grade after struggling in the Grand Sefton at Aintree latest.
