Although there are a few exciting newcomers here, the experience that SHAKENOTSTIRRED gained on debut could be able to guide her to shedding the maiden tag at the second time of asking. After running green throughout the race, the daughter of Havana Gold stuck her head down late on to stretch four lengths clear of third and record an impressive closing sectional time. The Sean Woods-trained filly get the vote, although Artemisia Gentile is by Caravaggio and worth noting, while Sows cost 100,000 pounds as a yearling and warrants interest.

OCEANLINE has not been disgraced on his three outings this campaign and gets the vote now stepping up in trip. His pedigree suggests his best exploits will be over further but, after being dropped 2lb for his run at Newbury last month, is preferred to Norman Kindu, who could be able to give a good account now returning to drier conditions. Mark Johnston brings two to this affair and Fandabidozi is the preferred entry now stepping back from two miles.

Heptathlete has won four of her last six outings and cannot be dismissed yet again, but all of those successes have come over further and although she has form in France over this trip, she's opposable. Instead, it may pay dividends to side with the eight-year-old C&D winner, PENNY POT LANE, now returning to calmer waters. She gets the vote in the hope she can build on her reappearance run, while the unexposed Avebury completes the shortlist after an encouraging outing at Ayr last month.

CRIMSON SAND was progressive at Lingfield prior to getting beat on his handicap debut at Ascot, but plenty went wrong for him that day and Richard Hughes' charge is well worth another chance. Cahors struggled at Chelmsford in February but was back to something like her best at Goodwood last time. She joins Rebel At Dawn on the shortlist.

Like Sugar has won two of her last four starts and must be taken seriously, but the gut feeling is that PUCKLE will gain the success her recent form deserves now she's sporting first-time cheekpieces. She is very consistent but should win more often, and perhaps Mark Johnston has found the key to her. It wouldn't be a surprise to see Le Bayou run well too.

SEVENAL got off the mark over a mile at Windsor a month ago and the well-bred colt could be hard to beat on his handicap debut, especially as he may improve for the first-time application of cheekpieces. Ilza'eem disappointed on his handicap bow last month but it is far too soon to be writing him off, while the unexposed George Morland also merits a place on the shortlist.

LIGHTNING ATTACK was only beaten a neck when finishing second over a mile at Bath a couple of weeks ago and that form gives him a big chance in this contest. New Look is far from a prolific winner but he is more than capable of making the frame in a race of this nature. Others to note are Hotcity, Rock Warbler and Don't Joke.
