Rod Millman has made a flying start to the new season, especially with his two-year-olds and looks to have the answer to this with both Thomas Of Bathwick and BATHWICK PRINCE making their debuts. Jockey bookings suggest the latter is first-choice for a yard that has won this race twice in the last four years. Bold Cross and Owners Biscuits hail from stables that get plenty of juvenile winners at this track and look the main dangers.

CANADIAN DANEHILL has raced exclusively on the all-weather to date and had Tartatarfufata behind when winning on the fibresand at Southwell in February. The latter reversed the form from a more favourable draw next time (Silver Dane third) but the booking of Frankie suggests connections think there is more to come from Robert Cowell's charge on his turf debut.

Continent is the class act here but he showed little when finishing last in Saturday's seasonal debut and may need another couple of runs before showing his best. MORNIN RESERVES may be returning from a lengthy absence but is a talented sprinter at his best and new connections could have him primed and ready to fire on his reappearance with the Champion Jockey booked. Dragon Flyer doesn't win very often these days and High Reach could prove the best of the remainder.

Nothing to get the pulse racing here but VICTORY QUEST beat higher-rated rivals than this when successful over 2m at Southwell last February. He's 7lb lower here after some modest recent efforts on the all-weather and gets a tentative vote on today's return to the turf. Princess Kiotto has an obvious chance if fully tuned-up for her reappearance, while Skye's Folly and Junkanoo are others capable of running a big race in this grade.

High-class stayer DARASIM followed a creditable third in the Ascot Gold Cup with victory in the Goodwood Cup last year and should have too may guns for these rivals if getting his own way from the front in today's race. Stablemate Winged D'Argent is open to further progress with a recent run under his belt and Frank Sonata showed progressive form last season and looks a "cup" horse in the making this year. Shabernak and Tender Trap both return from lengthy absences but the consistent Coventina should run her usual solid race.

TRUE COMPANION only won an amateurs event at Doncaster last week but his five length victory gave the impression he was still improving and Nick Littmoden's charge is worth sticking with here as he escapes a penalty. Charnock Bates One is well-in if fully wound-up on his return, while Libre and Nantucket Sound have been in winning form on the all-weather this winter and could go well.

Brace Of Doves makes the most appeal of those with a recent run under their belts but he has plenty to prove over a mile and it's impossible to tell how much the others have come on over the winter. However, Michael Jarvis won this two years ago with a similar type to COST ANALYSIS and the son of Grand Lodge, who showed his best form last season under similar conditions, is open to lots of improvement after being gelded during the winter. Theas Dance and Pearl's A Singer are others worth noting in the betting.
